DO NOT TAKE HER. Not a reliable teacher. She is always late to class, and she NEVER e-mails you back if you have any questions. Also very hard to figure out your grade in her class due to her being so unorganized. One of my worst teachers at UCA.

Comment:

Karen Zipfel gives her students assignments that are very basic. If you pay attention to what she explains about the assignment, there should be no problem with having the projects completed correctly. There may have been one assignment that was more complex, but I was fine after speaking with her about it.

Comment:

Karen Zipfel loves what she does and that is to teach the arts in many forms. I had taken her 2D Design class and loved it! Didn't miss a day because I didn't want to miss anything she was teaching and shared. She is extremely helpful and will listen to you. She takes the time to help her students.

I feel bad for Zipfel just because I feel as if she truly loves her subject, but no one else does. I can sense the lack of care while listening to her lectures. It's hard not to want to sleep because the lights are always dimmed. Expect a few tests and projects. 4 missed days and you lose a letter grade, 5 missed days and you're dropped.

DO NOT TAKE! She is late every day and is the most boring lecturer ever. Gives study guides, but then tests over different stuff. Turned in a project in February and didn't get the grade until the final (last week of April). Told us we would have an extra credit opportunity, and then forgot to tell us about it. Avoid at all costs.

This teacher was not helpful at all. Late to class, talking in circles, and the material on the tests was never discussed in class. Most lectures consist of random facts she claims you won't need to know (think again) and useless stories about her time in college. I would recommend anyone else for this supposedly easy gen ed course.

Incredibly boring to listen to but not a difficult class. She takes attendance every class so you can't miss. She'll drop you if you get four absences. The material is fairly easy and she gives study guides.

Mrs. Zipfel was very kind and helpful when she was there, but she was late to class every single day! It could be anywhere from 15-45 minutes late and she would expect us to be there and she would take attendance. Some of the assignments seemed like busy work and were quite boring, but I think over all this class taught me a little more about 2D.

Ms.Zipfel seems like a nice person,but a poor excuse of a teacher. Not only does she not give any information (besides just the images) in her presentations,you will have no idea what your grade is at any point of the semester. I havelearned more from our 3day substitute then I have the entire semester with Zipfel. You'll be teaching yourself.

She may be boring but i did actually enjoy the class sometimes when it was things that interested me. Also she doesn't use blackboard or anything so good luck knowing your grade in the class. Gives 3 test and 7 or 8 quizzes just do the reading and pay attention and you will be fine.

I like the teacher. She is nice and very laid-back. The class is pretty boring though. She talks about slides the whole class period. The tests are easy if you study. Most of the things she talks about are in the book as well so the book is helpful for if you missed taking notes.

I turned in a project the friday before Spring Break..it's the week before finals and still no grade back!! She thinks she is so smart and cool and her class is beyond boring. impossible to stay awake in. STAY AWAY!

I took her for art appreciation and she was super easy. Yeah she was a few minutes late, but you're there anyway. all you do in class is listen to her talk about the slide show of artworks. there are 3 tests and several quizzes, which are easy if you pay attention to her in class. Very easy! Highly recommended!!!

Our class was fairly interesting. You won't need the book until test time, and she won't fail your projects unless you just don't follow instructions. She always talked to our class and periodically checked to see where we were on our projects. The class is overall pretty easy.

I am not a fan of her as a teacher. She just stands at the front of the room and shows slides, then lectures the entire time. She doesn't interact with her students at all. VERY boring class and shes a very boring teacher! She thinks she is funny, and shes the only one that laughs at her jokes. Its awkward. I wouldn't recommend this class.

She is very nice and sometimes annoyingly chipper. She tells you what will be on tests multiple times. Pay attention. I actually found the class interesting and retained information. Go to her online site and print off the pages with the photos on them!! Then take notes next to it. This comes in handy very much for studying. Easy A.
