Comment:

Dr. Dobson isa breath of fresh air. He seems to know just about everything about clinical psychology, and his lectures are always clear and engaging. Tests are reasonable and based on mostly lectures and a little bit on the textbook, papers are a little bit more difficult because he expects a lot of application and detail, but overall very fair.

Comment:

Dr. Dobson is the most adorable prof I've ever had. He is so brilliant and passionate about psychology and he is super approachable and always willing to help. I was thrown off by his grading once but I went to talk about it with him and he's super reasonable. He loves the field so he can go off on tangents but he is a wealth of information.

Comment:

The COVID/online version of this course requires you to listen to lectures at your own schedule. The final became a written take-home. Dr. Dobson is understanding and cares about his students. He is a relatively easy marker, as long as you know your stuff. He is knowledgeable. I learned a lot in his course! Take clinical psyc with him!

Enthusiastic, pleasant and very clear; learned a lot. Dr. Dobson is very knowledgable and has his opinions but presents the material in a rather unbiased way. Tests were decently easy if you study. Go to class.

Comment:

Super nice and friendly! He always had a smile on his face and presented the material with plenty of examples. Exams were super easy and he is an easy marker. If you go to class, you'll have no trouble getting that A.

Comment:

Excellent course on culture and psychopathology. Dr. Dobson is knowledgeable, caring, and genuine in his lecture style. Most of the class is discussion, presentations, and an awesome dialogue about culture. Highly recommended!

Comment:

Really knowledgeable about the course and the field, good lecturer - tests are fill in the blank and short answer (with multiple possible answers) - tests are fair (if you go to class), and he marks quite fair and hands things back quickly. Definitely go to class - he puts material mentioned in class not necessarily on the ppt slides on tests.

The biggest problem was that the classroom ans teaching method made it boring. Dr.Dobson is a good, knowledgeable professor, but the tests are hard, you have to know your stuff.

Havent had this guy before but his wife, Deborah Dobson was an amazing 385 teacher! Clear and concise notes, and she cares for her students. Go to class, take notes and skim through the textbook and you'll do well!

Rating is for Deborah Dobson - his wife- who also teaches. BEST Prof I've ever had! Excellent lectures in clinical psychology, interesting guest speakers and chit-chat. Challenging exams but I learned sooooo much. She only teaches once per year - take her class if you can - you won't regret it.

This was the last year in my degree, and I've never had a prof that knows there stuff quite as much as he does. A little bland at times, but that might be more the material's fault than his.UofC needs more profs like him; probably costs too much though..
