Professor Carlson truly cares about how you perform in her class. She always offers additional support if students need help. Be careful homework is not worth much , tests are weighted very heavily. Make sure you are prepared before taking her exams, you dont get a review, but study the My math lab homework it will prepare you for tests.

Rude. She was very rude to me throughout the entire semester for no reason. Shes inconsiderate of personal problems and feelings and expects you to drop everything for her class. Would NEVER take again.

Prof Carlson takes the time to clearly explain everything. She teaches as if it is the first time learning the subject, which can seem like it would be bad, but she does a great job of providing a solid foundation for your time in her class, and if you need more assistance on a subject, she is always here to help you succeed, in her class or others

Stay away! Worst professor at YSU. Gives homework abou every night and does not explain well. If your fail her final you will fail the class. Save yourself and never take her.

Mrs. Carlson is one of my favorite professors I've had so far! A lot of people get scared and drop her class during the first few weeks, but if you stick with the class, you'll be glad you did. She does give homework but it helps you do better. She also teaches in a way that you'll remember and understand.

She makes you feel stupid if you don't ask questions in the class. I've raised my hand multiple times to ask questions & she skips right over me. She makes me feel really stupid. She makes it clear who she likes & doesn't like. Highly suggest not taking her if possible. Oh you won't pass the class if you fail her final exam even if you have an A.

Lori was always willing to help in-class, after class, and during her office hours. While she could come off condescending at times, she really does want her students to succeed. Definitely do all the homework as it's a large part of the grade. Just redo the problems until you're 100% certain how to do them and you'll do fine on the exams.

Dr. Carlson has by far been my favorite math professor. I took her for 3 classes throughout my major and she got more helpful every class I had her with. I would definitely recommend taking her for any math class possible! You have to work harder but I've learned so much from her!

I took her for both the middle school maths and she was a very educated woman, but I feel she did not enjoy teaching the class and almost made you feel stupid for not understanding something. The class was enjoyable though, and I would take her again if I had to take another math.

I took Mrs. Carlson for 3 of my math classes and if there was anything else I could take that she teaches, I would in a heartbeat. She is the best professor I have ever had and I'm a junior. You have to show up to class to pass but she makes you want to go to class. She teaches outside of the box and knows how to explain things differently.

She was my favorite teacher in all of my college career. She's very knowledgable and and I had her for 3 previous classes and now when I do not have her this semester I can still go seek help from her. Her teaching methods help you learn more. A lot of content and you have to put in the work but all in all I enjoyed this class.

Mrs. Carlson is my favorite teacher. She makes math fun and really challenges you to think. She is willing to help you if you need it, but you have to ask for help. Don't just expect her to give you an A. I am registered to take another class with her. Love her!

I had Carlson for Foundations of Middle School Math 1 and am signed up to take the second part of the class with her in the spring. She knows the material very well and is helpful to students by explaining how to go about a problem. This class is harder than I thought it was going to be for middle school math, but I earned an A.

Attendance is mandatory and if you are late to class she will deduct points from your grade. I disliked her and the class very much because there was not any structure to the class at all. On quizzes and tests you cannot just put an answer you have to explain it or else she won't give you any points at all. She also grades really hard.
