Comment:

She was a very awesome professor! She is quick to go back and explain something even more thoroughly when a students ask questions. She gave out quizzes once a week and they weren't a surprise she almost always let us know in the beginning of the week. Her tests were also based off the written homework, quizzes, or examples. She also curves.

Comment:

Let me start by saying her accent can be hard to understand at times; you can still tell what she is saying though because she uses diagrams on the board. Grades pretty tough but you can argue for more points if you have a reason. Teaches pretty well but it's a good idea to use YouTube too if you want a B or A. It's not too bad. You'll be fine.

Not very effective at teaching, most of the material i learn by myself at home because when she teaches she goes by all the material very fast and will not pause or slow down to make sure the class understands

I took Dr. Qian last semester for business cal. She let us make formula sheets for exams, sometimes allowed group work for the daily quizzes, and did her best to answer questions when I had them. However, try asking questions that are related to the concept or she might get sassy lol. Passed her class with a B+

very nice professor. She can get a bit hard to understand because of her accent. but its no biggie. There are daily quizzes. and i highly recommend to stay on track with hw that way you can ask questions be4 the exam. She's always in class early and stays a bit after for extra questions and of course office hours helped a lot. ended up with a B+

Awesome Professor. The only problem is that she has an accent and can be unclear at times. other than the accent,shes a great professor.Homework was not that difficult,the project was a piece of cake, tests were not bad, but the final was tough. Definitely recommend taking her.

I don't think she is a bad professor, I just thing Business calculus is very difficult. I had a C throughout the whole semester. If you need help, she's always available for office hours. To pass: do the homework online, read HER textbook,and study the study guide she provides, almost exactly like the test.

for math 150A this Qian is probably one of the clearest professors. i took her summer session and got an A+ but i did study a lot. we had a quiz everyday on the previous day's material, but they were very straight forward and simple. exam questions were taken right out of the quizzes and study guide. no trickery with her. highly recommend.

Comment:

People don't fail this class because it's difficult, people fail this class because there's a language barrier. She also uses analogies that make no sense to the lecture; her accent on the first day is hard to decipher but after that it's fine. Follow the book because it will help.

Intimidating at first, but her teachings are simple. The book helps A LOT. Also, make friends! Attendance is mandatory because there's a quiz daily, but she allows you to talk classmates. Tests are very similar to study guides, and she allows a cheat sheet! One easy group project. Homework is fairly simple.

Just attend class and it is easy, she really works to make it as simple as possible to her students. She is happy to help you if you ask her questions, I did not like the online hw. If you do well though on first test, you can not have to use the online part anymore.

This teacher is very hard to understand and the course is very difficult but I got a B+ in this class and I had already took Business Calculus and had to drop it. She is very helpful only if you go to her. If you do all your homework and pass the quizzes and do alright on the test you could get a C-. Her accent is horrible as well.

At first it was kinda hard to understand her accent, but after a while I got the hang of it. I didn't take calc in high school, so I thought that it would be super hard. I ended up knowing more than I thought I would have. If you ask for help she will give it to you, but if you don't then that's all on you whether you want to fail the class or not.

This class's easy for me cuz I took Cal in hs, but applications problems(word problems)could still be tough. Her teaching is bad she just explain the book on the projector and that's useless cuz you can't follow her. Book's ok but still can be confusing. Do HW cuz it will help alot with the tests, and try to remember how to solve the appl problems.

I already took Calculus in high school so this class is easy for me but for the people who are taking it for the first time, you won't get it. She cannot and DOES NOT teach. Her English speaking skills are as bad as her math skills; her book (which she wrote) has a lot of mistakes in it. She said that herself.
