First clarification: there is reading from a text, but usually it's not from a textbook. Typically, Dr. Hight contacts the creators of a textbook and asks for a discount on a few copies of the text, and then prints off the text for everyone to save money. Otherwise, just a great professor. He makes you want to succeed.

Hes Hight. Hes exactly what you expect. Difficult and hes smarter than you, but hell make you a better thinker. One of my favorite professors at Hampden-Sydney despite never getting above a B in his classes. Take him if you want to learn. Skip him if you need an easy core requirement.

Comment:

Dr. Hight is an amazing teacher who is extremely talented at teaching. He is not a boring teacher and keeps in touch with his students. However, he does expect you to do your very best. He doesn't care if you tried your hardest, he still give you a D if you deserve a D. He gives you exams in advance, what more could you ask for.

Great Professor i took most of my Philosophy classes with this professor. he got me into philosophy as he has done to many others. possibly one of the greatest professors and teachers at Sydney.

Can't let Janowski be the only philosophy professor with a pepper. In a nutshell, Hight is an extremely approachable guy who knows what he's talking about. One of the best educators I've ever had.

A very difficult teacher to take classes from. Expect to be pushed at all levels. He is more difficult on those in major. He expects more from them. The worst part about his classes are that sometimes his expectations are way to high.

He is quite demanding.I wouldn't recommend him if you can't accept "C's";C for challenge and C paper.I was never sure I was going to land somewhere by engaging on those thoughts.
