This class was easy as long as you have a basic understanding of Spanish 1, but the amount of homework is ridiculous and Profe Mena's lectures were all over the place. She wasn't clear with deadlines or grades whatsoever. I dreaded this class because it was a waste of time. She means well, but don't expect to get much out of this class.

She's kind of a kook but she's a nice lady and wants everyone to love Spanish. If you don't do well on something, she'll let you redo if you go in and ask. She does cool Spanish meet-ups. She can be all over, and she might focus too little on teaching and more on participation in conversation, but that was the class so I'd say she was successful.

While the class itself is easy (as long as you have a basic understanding of Spanish 1) Profe Mena is one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my life. With 2 weeks of school left, she still did not know my name, despite her class size being less than 20 and speaking in person multiple times. She does not teach or have any kind of plan.

She gives an outline for every exam and it says exactly what will be on the test, many of times they are homework exercises and and labeled on the internet exactly as they are in the book. Test are pretty easy! Class is fun and there are many activities but definitely take her if your just trying to fulfill your core.

Profe Mena is a nice and caring person but she's not the best at teaching. It's mainly teach yourself. There are a lot of online assignments to do in addition to myspanish lab. The assignments are worth little to nothing in grade contribution. There's one vocab quiz and one test per chapter, mainly all online. The final exam however is not online.

Profe Mena is a really sweet lady but does not teach you the material in a clear manner. There is a lot of busy work and online homework. Tests and quizzes are generally online. If you have had spanish background, take this class. If not, get ready to teach yourself the vocal and grammar.

Take her if you have had previous Spanish experience. She doesn't explain things well so you have to teach yourself. I took Spanish in high school and got an A. Gives study guides before the exams that have everything you need to know.

Professor Mena is a sweet woman, but a terrible teacher. She is never clear on instructions and doesn't inform you when assignments are due or when tests are until the day of. You basically teach yourself everything, which makes it hard to go to class. If you don't go to class, you will fail the class.

Sweetest lady ever! I took advanced spanish classes all through high school and I did fine. a girl next to me took some spanish and really struggled, especially with the stuff she had never learned before. the class is not very entertaining and its easy to lose focus, but the homework load is light and if you study well the tests are easy.

Comment:
Professor Mena is not bad at all. In fact, I liked her a lot as a person I just felt that class was very repetitive because all we did was go through the book. Tests can be hard, but if you study you should do good. There are easy online quizzes and assignments for free points.

She is REALLY unorganized. Classes feel like shes just winging it. She doesn't really understand that as students we are not fluent in Spanish. Tests are ridiculously hard and NOTHING like the practice tests so if you feel prepared, you probably aren't. I would never recommend taking her.

She is SO unorganized and all over the place. The tests are online so if you mess one tiny thing up the entire thing is wrong. She definitely knows the material but doesn't know how to teach it. I fall asleep in class everyday.

She is not the greatest at communication, the tests are extremely confusing and don't generally have anything to do with the homework or quizzes. I would not recommend her.

She's a very nice lady, who cares about her students will go out of her way to try and help you. However, she can be disorganized, but if you keep up with the daily homework you'll be fine :). Fun fact: Her husband teaches German at Creighton also!

Very nice lady, but she basically just read out of the book. I taught myself more than she taught me. Lots of busy work. If you're looking for an easy spanish class, though, this is it.

She was my first Spanish teacher in college, and I feel like I knew more before I started the class. She does not explain things clearly and makes somethings more confusing. Avoid if you can.
