This class can be pretty difficult but McCoy is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's super sweet and loves the subject and just wants his students to succeed. You have to study weeks in advance because it can be a lot to memorize, but if you need help McCoy will do everything in his power to help you. He's super cheery and cheesy!

Mccoy is so funny and makes class fun to go to. However, this is not a class to take casually. Requires a huge amount of time to memorize all of the info, and the tests are MC but not easy, with lots of tricky true/false. Taking it with the lab helps a lot, but the lab itself is also a lot of work. I learned so much in this class but had to work

For an intro anatomy class, it is way too in depth. Exams are unnecessarily difficult and are structured confusingly. He is a wonderful person and an extremely caring professor, yet the class is insanely complex. Good luck, seek him out if you need help because he is very open to meeting with students.

McCoy is one of the most caring professors I've had at the College. I went into anatomy expecting hell, and came out with a 99 when the class average was an 80. The class material isn't innately hard, it just takes dedication to memorize. Start studying a week and a half early, rewrite your notes, make flashcards , go to OH and you'll be good.

Dr. McCoy is a wonderful, laid-back professor -- I'd definitely take another class with him. Four non-cumulative exams comprised a vast majority of the final grade, which was ultimately curved by 3%. The course material was tedious but not difficult. My recommendation? Use flashcards (or Quizlet!) and review for just a little bit each day.

Professor McCoy truly cares about his students. His classes are very enjoyable and fun but you definitely need to work to get a good grade. He is extremely kind, funny, and helpful during office hours. He is always willing to help his student succeed. He is truly a gem. W&M is lucky to have him.

Dr. McCoy is an awesome professor but you have to understand that this class will consume so much of your time. Tests can be tricky and they aren't curved. I definitely would take him again, but only take this if you have time to devote to it.

I took this class many moons ago and am now a practicing MD. I found Dr. McCoy very engaged and his class very helpful later in school. He is more supportive, available, and engaged than most med school professors. If you cannot manage at least a B+ with his level of help and support, give up all thought of medical school immediately.

Anatomy is not an easy class but it's been one of the most rewarding classes I've taken here in terms of how much I've learned. McCoy gives tough tests but they're always straightforward and he just does it because he expects you to get a lot out of this class. Also he's funny, nice, and very helpful. Take it along with the lab !

Prof McCoy is amazing and is very knowledgeable in this field! Highly recommend taking this class-- however, it is hard and takes a lot of studying. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK! Get an atlas instead. STUDY STUDY STUDY! But he's hilarious and makes you want to come to class.

Professor McCoy is an amazing professor with a passion for the material. The class was hard, but definitely doable. Also, McCoy gave a 6% curve at the end of the semester, about 30% of the class gets an A. I would recommend typing up the notes and taking the cadaver lab at the same time. They are very helpful to take together.

Really liked Biomechanics of Human Movement with McCoy! If you are interesting in physical therapy it is a great class for you and if science is your thing, its an easy A! (Don't need the textbook)

Professor McCoy would probably be a nice person outside of class but he is not a good teacher. Is fine with failing the majority of the class on an exam. Says in lecture you do not need to know something and then puts it on the test. Cannot reason with him. Very enthusiastic but focuses on things not relevant to a medical career, etc.

McCoy is a good guy, but anatomy lab was awful. The cadavers were decaying, and the parts of the body that were tagged for tests were extremely dried out and challenging to interpret. The TAs weren't very helpful, the lab book barely gave any guidance, and overall it too much work for a 1 credit class.

A LOT to learn. Straight forward and interesting but there is a lot of information and lab takes a big chunk of time. The dissection lab is DEFINITELY the way to go! It is fascinating! You do not need to buy the textbook but should buy the atlas!

It's a pretty terrible class. Useless at times and ridiculously difficult exams and are completely unnecessary. Nice guy but his class is ridiculous--dont take unless you need to. the structure of the class is dull and his lectures are worthless.

Prof McCoy is the man. Dont expect this class to be an easy A, but it is definitely an intro class meant to introduce you to a wide variety of topics in kinesiology. You do not need to buy the book, as he only teaches from lecture, although it could help you if you need another source of the info. Overall great, interesting class with fun guests.

I took Intro to Kinesiology w/ him. The course was challenging, but interesting. He does not take attendance, but exams are based solely on lecture material! Exams are all multiple choice questions. He is very good about making time for students to seek help from him outside of class.

Absolutely terrible class. Do not take if you do not need to take it. Purely memorization. Class is useless. He's a nice guy but there is no excuse on how difficult he makes the exams. Study at least 1 week before the test. memorize everything on the slides. Go to class, he gives test questions when too many people have skipped.

Lab is totally awesome! Make sure you go a lot outside of lab time. The TAs are usually great and willing to come in for a review session or two before tests. McCoy pops in every once in a while to see how things are going. Sometimes there is some confusion about what parts are what - I wish there had been more consistency among the TAs and McCoy.
