He is very devoted to his students and he wants his students to get A's but you have to work for it. The only thing I don't like are his sporadic lectures. He will give you like 150 slides per chapter but he doesn't even go through half of them in lecture. Exams aren't horrible but study. Lab is very difficult in my opinion.

Good teacher makes physics a little less dreadful. Accent is a little tough at first but you will get used to it. Unlike many teachers he gives out and equation sheet and will go over problems with you if you don't understand. tests are usually 12/13 questions but he takes them out of ten. Highly recommend over other physics teachers.

Dr. Mahmood is an outstanding professor. I was hesitant at first about his accent, but you will easily catch on after a week or two. Mahmood himself is a very caring man and will do anything to help you out. He provides ample ways to earn an "A" in the class, even if the grades are weighted. Quizzes/exams are 12 pts but always curved by 2 pts

Dr. Mahmood is hard to understand at first because of his accent. His lecture slides are very lengthy however he goes through a full chapter within a day. He gives an equation sheet for everything, however you have to truly understand them to be able to use them effectively. Overall he is a nice guy and cares about your individual success.

In the first few days of class i must admit that i was a little worried. If you sit in the front of the class and pay attention the class is no problem at all. Dr. Mahmood is very understanding is willing to help in and out of class. Tests and quizzes were 12 points but he would curve it to make it out of 10. I would definitely take his class again

Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy. The problem is that no matter how hard most people try, they admittedly cant understand what he's saying. When asked questions, he doesn't usually understand either and says something off topic. He says you will get an equation sheet, but frequently forgets to put key equations on it. Unorganized and sporadic.

His tests are awful. They are multiple choice and you basically just guess on all of the questions. There is no chance for you to get credit by showing work on exams. He just grades on whether you bubble the right circle. You are tested on completely different things than you learn in class. If you see this course.. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN

Probably the absolute worst professor I have ever had at SRU. If you have the choice to take him willingly, DO NOT. Lecture powerpoints were 150 slides long, and his teaching was sporadic and all over the place. Was very mean sometimes when you asked him for help. Barely curved when exam averages were 60% and lower. Horrible professor!!!

Very tough to understand. Does not know how to explain or help with questions. Tests are conceptual rather than math and are worded strange. No one passed with an A, only a few B, mostly C and D as final grades

He is very difficult to understand and lectures are boring. If you want to be succesful in this class you will have to teach yourself. His tests are very untraditional physics test. They are multiple choice and he curves all of them. It is very easy to get an A with all of the curves. Just practice problems and you will do fine.

This class was the hardest class I have taken thus far. He is literally so confusing and I struggled the whole semester. He curves all of the tests and quizzes and they are multiple choice, but very hard. My advice is to sit in the front of the room so you can hear him more clearly because he is very soft spoken.

Worst teacher I have had. He is extremely difficult to understand and constantly screws up his own exams. He doesn't teach so you have to self teach. His emails never make any sense and he is not helpful. Horrible teacher.

Not a quality professor. He doesn't seem to care very much about teaching general physics. You can tell he's pretty smart, he just doesn't teach well. But the test are all 25 multiple choice questions. Pretty easy to pass if you read the book.

He's hard to understand. Frequently he'll say something and everyone in class wonders what he's saying. Very strong accent...Also he gets things wrong all the time. Grades, problems on the board, etc. Pay attention to your exams to make sure you get credit for everything.

Dr. Mahmood is a wonderful professor. I am a physics major and was doubtful myself after a few days of class. He talks quiet and can be difficult to understand, but if you care at all about the class you'll sit up front & have no problem. He does move fast, so having some background in Physics helps. I love the guy. Highly recommended by me:)

Doesn't teach very much. Power points are identical to the book but he goes too fast to actually take notes and he's very hard to understand. Nice teacher that is willing to help, but he is not very clear on anything. Tests aren't too awful though.

I had Physics 2 with this idiot. He is impossible to understand, has no enthusiasm for the course, and seems to really not give a crap what you do. I'm sure he's a great person, but drop this course if you have him as a proffesor because you can't understand a word he is saying.
