Comment:

Just show up to class and listen to him talk, but he gets so into his teaching it's almost enjoyable. Lots of homework online through Hawkes so don't buy the book. Tests can be tricky but are often times just like the quizzes, so keep those after he hands them back. Final wasn't mandatory if you didn't use all your absences. Pretty cool guy.

Comment:

He was a good professor for some and I definitely seen that. I on the other hand struggled. I have terrible test anxiety and thats all he grades. Meaning I need and enjoy homework. I did all of my un required homework and studied at least 2 hours for every test. And still failed.

You can buy the textbook, and should if you struggle with math, but Foos doesn't require any work from it. He is clear, concise, funny and will help you pass his class is you show you care about your grade/work. Lots of take-home quizzes and easy tests, he'll prepare you for. Great guy and even better teacher!

Beyond great professor! Make sure to do the homework even though its not graded, all of the problems are exactly like the exams! Lots of quizzes but are super easy! Would 100% take him again.

Professor Foos is one of the teachers that actually cares. Not one of my strong suits but he will do anything to help you understand the material. Don't miss class or you will be lost. All of the homework is online over Hawkes. Don't waste money on the book because I never opened it.

Comment:

Easily one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Homework was just for practice. Note taking guides that make taking notes a breeze. Quizzes were all take home. Tests were in class but never felt cheap or unfair like many other math teachers. Grades fairly. I wish Scott taught higher level classes like Calc because I'd take him every time.

The class is easy if you attend everyday and pay attention. He will help you in whatever way he can to help you understand the material. Easily accessible outside of class. His lectures are boring but so is the subject. All homework is done online and it's relatively easy. Lots of short quizzes given throughout the semester but only 3 tests + final

Very good at what he lectures on. Doesn't move on to the next topic until everyone understands (or at least acts like they understand) and if you miss 2 or less days the final exam is optional.

Great professor, very intelligent. Lectures HEAVILY in class, don't miss or you'll fall behind. Homework administered through Hawkes, no book required. In class quizzes and exams periodically. Very no-nonsense in everything he does. Wouldn't hesitate to take again.

He is a great professor! You don't need a text book, but you do homework online all the time. If you don't miss class, you don't have to take the final. He gives out the chapter outlines to take notes. He makes sure everyone knows it before he moves on. Its a pretty slow paced classes. Its super easy if you go to class and fill out the notes.

Very helpful Professor! The tests and quizzes are a little time consuming, and he only gives you the hour. But he still gets you prepared for them, and they are fairly easy. WOULD RECOMMEND!

He is such a great professor! He teaches his lessons so clearly and makes sure everyone understands. You don't need the book! Online homework really helped. Quizzes were simple. If you only miss no more than 2 classes, no final! He is awesome! Go Foos!

I really enjoyed Professor Foos. He's very clear with sample problems and open to any student questions. He understands that math is difficult for some students, and he tries to help them. I would take him again.

Test's are really random and very hard to study for. It is a stats class that has complex formulas and he doesn't allow note cards and if he does he tells you that you can only use certain ones.

Comment:

Very helpful and passionate about your learning - going to his office hours is very helpful as he'll give you the answers to the homework and help you out with any questions you have. Study the packets (especially definitions!) and redo the examples before exams, ask questions during class, and you should be fine.
