Comment:

Dr. Liu (he prefers you call him Dr. Sugar) was a great professor for the three week BUS 335 course. He responds to emails/DB posts to him within a day or less and he does not beat around the bush when he discusses exactly what he is looking for to grade you on. Pay attention to his rubrics, cite your sources, and meet word counts and an A is easy.

Comment:

This was a tale of two halves of the semester. Albeit, forced distance learning during this Covid-19 epidemic has been tough on all, Dr. Sugar went from caring to completely uninterested in his students' learning. His lack of a virtual classroom, communication of expectations, and availability made it impossible to do well. AVOID for Online class.

Comment:

Dr. Sugar is one of the best professors on this campus. He has a HW online discussion forum for ?s in addition to his office hours. There is a quiz taken from the textbook every class and often take home quizes in the textbook in addition to HW (you get 5 tries for HW to get a 100). You NEED the textbook and you NEED to attend class.

He is the best professor. He is for the students and very friendly, if you go to see him in the office hours he never be minded. His Quiz and home works are worth of 25% of final grade, and he will help you out to do these. But his tests are little tricky.

Probably the best professor I've had so far at SUNY New Paltz. Dr. Sugar is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about the subject matter. He takes the time to go over each subject in depth and doesn't move on until everyone understands. There's a lot of work but he's a fair grader. Open book tests. Makes difficult subject matter painless.

He was very hard for me to follow for some reason but according to other students he's the most clear in this subject. Always willing to help. The material is very difficult, saves the easiest material for the final. Every class there's an open quiz that you can work on with people, but can feel pressure since he waits to the end of class to give.

Definitely one of the best professors New Paltz has to offer. You really learn a lot in Operations Management and it's definitely a challenging class. Get ready for a class full of applied math.

Dr. Sugar is the best professor in the School of Business. He is an excellent instructor and does not need powerpoints or books to teach as he is very smart. If you follow his examples and study the homework you can get A's on all the tests. Really nice guy, take him for ops management.

He is very very smart. Rushes every once in a while and expects you to know some things that you just haven't learned. But he is very helpful and if you ask, he will always answer. Tests are all on examples, not ever on concepts. I recommend you take him.

He's smart and knows what he is talking about but the class is VERY boring and out of all the other professors who teach this course he is the only one who doesn't give open book and open note tests..doesn't take attendance but isn't an easy A like it should be. I HAVE MIXED REVIEWS ON THIS PROFESSOR. I DO LIKE HIM AS A PROFESSOR BUT HE NEEDS TO TAKE MORE TIME EXPLAINING THE INFORMATION AND GIVE BETTER EXAMPLES. Don't like this teacher at all, he is kind of rude, tests are really difficult, he goes so fast, and yields us if we don't go that fast. He thinks we are supposed to know everything already. Quiz after every class.

Quiz at the end of each class. Okay teacher, goes step-by-step, but pretty quickly. Some things on the test just pop out of nowhere that he went over briefly one time :(. Overall, okay teacher. Do your homework, show up for class, pay attention, and you'll get a B without doing anything else.
