Yes he may like to lecture for a long time, but cut the guy some slack. He got blown up by a volcano. He has a dry sense of humor, and does not like the use of tech in his class. So check Instagram after class. Read the chapters to be prepared for the quizzes. he posts study guides online, along with the power points. Just show up.

The professor knows what he is talking about, by attending a class you will learn life situations, geology out in the field, current events, and selected material from the book. There are some discussions on the homework assignments, but they are relatively easy. He gives plenty of study material before the tests and the final exam.

He speaks in a hard way to understand. He is lectures are boring and attendance isn't required but he gives two pop quizzes I missed them both and still got an A. Extra credits are very helpful.

The lectures are incredibly boring and do nothing to help on the tests. In my experience, just read the book cover to cover and show up for test days and you will pass with flying colors.

Professor Williams makes this class very difficult to take notes in as he rambles about his personal life and goes on many tangents. Tests are very difficult as you have to read the book and learn geology on your own. The only benefit to this class is the amount of extra credit offered. If you are needing a science credit, steer clear from GLG101!

I'm trying my best to be respectful, but this class is total crap. I am half way through the semester and couldn't tell you more than a handful of "fun facts" that I learned in this class. Lecture is really not worth your time because it is a lot of rambling. Just because you're a globally respected scientist doesn't mean you're a good teacher.

His tests are very straight forward. All you have to do is read the book and fill out the short study guide. He gives a ton of bonus points. Im not a great student and I just finished with an easy A+. 4 tests and he drops the lowest one

The only grades for this class (GLG110) were the tests. I never went to lectures (because all he does is hate on the metric system and correct the book and mumble). Instead, I took notes on the book on my own - the tests were common knowledge material and multiple choice, super easy.

**** read this ******* I got an A in this class. Just do well on 3/4 tests that get counted, go to class so you dont miss the in class quizzes, do all the 50pts of bonus points, and the final is easy as ****. Its true that this class sucks but the main thing i recommend is you read the book for the test

Stanley Williams is THE WORST PROFESSOR YOU COULD TAKE AT ASU. I am an Honors student who gets D's on his test AFTER studying the study guide for hours. His tests have NOTHING to do with the study guide. His slides are incredibly unhelpful and unrelated to the material. I am beyond frustrated with his class. Avoid at all costs!!!

He is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. I only attended lecture the first couple weeks and he constantly ranted about nothing. I taught myself everything from slides and got an A. Finals is all old tests, and he lets you take tests home, so mark the right answers when he posts them. DON'T BUY THE BOOK. He also never answers emails.

This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire educational career. Not only does he NEVER teach about the subject, but what he does teach (or even what he assigns for reading in the book) WON'T actually be on the tests. He doesn't speak loud enough to hear, and when he does, you might as well be deaf because he won't talk about anyth

BAD BAD BAD. Mr. Williams is so errogant and aggressive with his students. He will argue with you to prove you are wrong and when you ask a question, he makes you feel dumb. All he does is talk, not teach. Change teachers ASAP

He is the dumbest teacher I have ever experienced before. I regret 100% taking his class. I never missed a class and yet I still never understood anything. Had to read the whole book to pass. DO NOT take his class.

HORRIBLE. He basically makes all of these 60-page powerpoints and all it has are pictures from the textbook. He is very rude and does not know how to teach, he only knows how to talk. Had to read the entire textbook to do good on tests. NOT RECOMMENDED. Switch out of his class ASAP.

Williams is a really nice guy, but he's absolutely impossible to understand in class-he mumbles. There is little to no point in coming to class, except for the few times there is in-class extra credit. The tests are based entirely off of the book and he gives you a study guide. He also offers a lot of extra credit, so its not hard to do well.

Easy A, even easier B. If you don't pass his class then you should not be in college. However, he makes you want to pull your hair out because of his crazy grading and his moronic explanations for everything. You will want to punch the wall every time you leave class. I say take it with another teacher, save yourself from the constant headaches....

He just needed to pay attention to the seismicity at Volcan Galares on 1/14/1993. Don't follow? Read "No Apparent Danger" by Victoria Bruce
