Van Hillard was the Best ISS professor USFSP has ever had, The current bozo uses graphic dog attack pictures to instigate students with service animals, saying "I hope your dog doesn't mutilate people". The student was silent during the entire awkward and uncomfortable classroom experience.

I had her in the 90's. I'm glad she's still around. She's one you either love or hate. She's quirky, but I both like and appreciate her. I got an A in all 4 of her classes I took, and was able to recall what I'd learned 10 years later when I decided to continue my education. She's good.

It's a collection of random absurdness coming from a manic or bipolar person that is using class time as her personal idiocracy sessions. I am seriously offended that I had to listen to this person go on about NOTHING when I PAID to learn statistics!

Intro to Social Science. Dr. Hilliard was a very good professor. If you are a hands on person who would rather listen and learn rather than to have exhausting test that make no sense, this is the professor to take. Even though she gave one test and one online assignment the class was very much worth my time. Save your money no text book needed.

When Van speaks, anyone with a smattering of sense shoud listen. Her background is phenomeol. She is a wealth of information and she knows what she is doing. She teaches you to think--a rarity nowadays. She is brilliant and taught me an astounding amount of knowledge relevant to the performance of research. If you are a dullard, avoid her classes.

Every teacher that I've had has been great... EXCEPT for this one. Her summer class is the most disorganized class I've ever taken. Theres no syllabus and she talks more about random irrelevance than the material. I'm sorry, but baseball, bird watching, and "why yankee doodle stuck a feather in his hat" is not what i wanted to get out of college...

I took exp. design and analysis. The class is really hard but as long as you attend every class you will do fine. She doesnt give much grade feedback throughout the semester. The whole time I was stressed out about not having ANY grades back..but at the end of the course I got an A.. Make sure you attend every class because there is no textbook

I had a great time in this class. I learned a lot and most of it was thru the research I did. Van did an excellent job of guiding us and was laid back with the class structure which helped me enjoy doing the work more. I wish I could have taken more classes with her because she's such an interesting person.

I don't know why she bothered to write a syllabus we never followed it. She is nice and knowledgeable and you'll probably learn something in her class but she is attached to her perspective. I also found it hard to communicate with her unless you wanted to talk sports.

Makes the math easy. Poor at explaining the concepts. Tests based on text readings, her disorganized class lectures, and stuff that comes out of nowhere. Surprisingly little math on the test. She is hard to get in touch with if you need help.

This is the most unorganized class i have taken in my entire life. I had no idea what was ever going on, assignments were always changed and nothing was ever on schedule. The teacher was always off on tangents of unrelated subjects, such as her coffee spillages and her baseball adventures. I failed the assignments but still managed to get a B!??!?!

Van is great- very fair if you come to class and apply yourself. A little hard to get a feel of what your grade is, but if you give at least 80% effort, you will get a good grade. She goes off subject quite often- but she keeps the class entertained and she loves what she does!

I feel the need to stick up for Dr. Van here. She is a brilliant person who expects her students to be able to figure many things out by themselves. She will not baby you through anything. Best advice - be prepared!! I know she's scattered but sticking through her classes really have taught me alot and I've walked away with 3 A's.

She took attendance. She gave a syllabus. She said she'd assign homework on blackboard but never did. Homework and quizzes counted for 1/3 of the grade according to the syllabus; in actuality, they don't. Over 100 credit hours and she's by far and away the worst teacher I've had. Grade was determined by TWO TESTS and that's it. Worst teacher ever.
