Her class is so difficult. I am good at math and i struggled. There was at least 3 hours of homework each night and she is a tough grader. Her lectures are extremely boring and it's hard to keep up even if you love math. Don't take her class!

Van Dresar is the worst professor I have had. She is not clear, EXTREMELY picky, and treats you like you're not intelligent. Expect a lot of homework. You get points taken off if you have the correct answer but its not "written" how she wants it. Avoid her. RUN.

Pretty much you had to learn everything by yourself. Unless you are a math genius, this class was a nightmare. If you answered something wrong she literally looked at you like "are you kidding me". She is just an overall terrible professor and I would recommend her to absolutely no one.

Such a horrible class. This woman is crazy about grading and has students do more work in one chapter than other classes may do all year. She gives 8.25 or 9.75 out 15 on the homework and marks off even if the answer is right but the neatness or description of answer was not good enough for her. Do not take if you want a decent grade at all.

Grading is outrageous. She does not only look for the right answer but wants neat lines, more descriptive, better labels and proportions or points off. She also jokes about seeing kids more than one semester and said she likes to play tricks on her students during tests such as make every answer C to confuse students. Do not take this class with he

She was very, very helpful. The class was tough and time consuming, but she was always willing to meet with me and explain the material again. i would not recommend taking this type of class unless you are interested in math or need it for your major! i found it very difficult to grasp!! she will do whatever it takes to help you succeed!!

If you want to do well in this class, prepare to work really hard. I studied so much and managed to get an A-, but I'm an English major who can't make numbers stay still. She has ample office hours and is willing to help. Material is somewhat difficult; her teaching is more so. She teaches things in an arbitrary way rather than a logical one.

I've never done so poorly in a class that I've understood the material so well. She is a constant nitpicker that will find the smallest mistakes and make a huge deal out of them. No matter how great I think my homework was, she always found a mistake to mark my grade way down

This class is by far the most craptacular waste of time ever. And with this professor, it is even worse. The students in this IUL class will do more work in here than they will in any of their other classes that semester. She takes something trivial and blows it up to make it seem too important.

she is a little nuts, but its entertaining, and you sort of have to be nuts to teach (or study) math. other than that, awesome teacher, very willing to help students, however is very demanding of her students. expect to do lots of work for a B or C.

I am incredibly awful with math, but she is so helpful and provides tutors. She wants to see her students succeed more than anything. She's really fun too, it's the only math class I haven't dreaded going to.
