ONLINE. Read chapter, watch video lectures, do weekly discussion post, comment on peer's post. Final was difficult. Prof. Li doesn't really do any teaching seeing as it's all video lectures (from other teachers). I wasn't really looking forward to this class, but I'm glad that I took it. It really helped me understand the history of Asian Americans

Wei is a great professor. Some may think that she's harsh or rude. Sometimes it comes off that way because English is not her first language, but she means very well and cares about her students. Make sure to read the syllabus and come to class. She is a great prof and highly qualified to teach what she teaches. Don't slack off and you're fine!

Passive aggressive with the announcement board/emails. The grading criteria/expectation is pretty clear in the syllabus. Her grading is one worded, if not, it's incredibly brief. There's a lot of reading and video lectures. you're expected to interact with other students in the discussion board. Final is tricky since she doesn't provide an outline.

Wei is a great professor who is very knowledgable. Has high expectations of her students, but as long as you try to do what she tells you to, you should be fine.

This professor was not good at all. She was super rude when you try to ask her a question or email her asking her anything. She does not get all the grades in and does not give any feedback when grading your discussion boards. She does not make her class and expectations clear at all. I would not recommend her at all.

Be prepared for a lot of reading. Grades on assignments can vary greatly with points missing even in the responses to other students in discussion boards with no explanation.

It would be easy if you are trying to ignore the honor and to plagiarize. At least I don't think the quize is that easy! Even through just 5 multiple questions, but most are uncommon. The only advantage is that you can keep all the questions when you finished the quiz or exames. So..........Lol~, it depends on yourself

grading was unfair 10 points for 1 question each. also took 2-3 wks maybe longer to get a grade up. teacher took a long time to respond to emails and didnt seem to understand what question was being asked. didnt give announcements so you could easily miss a test since she didnt say when she put them up. overall did not like this class

The online class is really easy. One 5 question quiz and a discussion assignment per week + one current event paper. All tests are mult choice and online. Readings are useless. Just skim the lecture before taking the quizzes. Definitely worth taking this if you need to knock out c & hu or sb requirements.

Professor is very talkative and enjoys spending first 10-15 minutes of the class explaining what you'll be doing in that class period.Lectures are pretty much useless She's very unclear when it comes to grades. A lot of useless groupwork so a person might get screwed over with a crappy group. Overall a very horrible professor.

Worst class I've had at ASU. Very disorganized & unclear. Lecturing consists of student groups reciting what we all had to read the night before. Never offers own input. When the class debates an issue the discussion is poorly moderated & turns into a free for all. Offers random extra credit to random students. Assignments are not relevant to today

This is one of the easiest courses at ASU, behind the DAN, MUS, and EXW course. Highly recommend taking this Asian studies course. Her grading system is great: 10% for attendance, 40% team projects, 25% mid-term, and 25% final.

Not a difficult class but just a difficult grader. She shows video documentaries and powerpoint shows in class and that is what is on the test. She doesnt give handouts about what she specifically wants in the papers. You have to keep up with all the reading to pass the midterm. I'd say you'll learn more from the books than the lectures.

Decent professor, goes off tangent frequently and has an accent. Overall, she's lenient and does not assign much work. For APA360 (Chinese American Experience) we only 1 test which was the midterm. There was no final and just a group project. I get a strong impression that her classes aren't difficult, but when she does assign stuff, do it WELL.

Chinese American Experience - She isn't a really good teacher. She's hard to understand and her lectures aren't that good. I still ended up with a B in the course but overall, try to see if there's another professor available.
