First professor I've actually disliked. He has a heavy accent and even got mad at me for getting confused once, he literally said: "That's a stupid question!" Intro to Logic is hard, but it's even harder when you can feel your teacher's negative vibes. He always seems to be angry and ready to explode. He gives off a condescending vibe.

This professor is very knowledgeable in philosophy and can sometimes be funny. However, he is hard to understand and I did not retain much from taking this class. Would not take again.

his accent is very heavy which makes it difficult to understand but besides that he was a good professor, tried to make lectures interesting and tests were easy and straight forward. Only needed to write one paper and hardly any homework. All you need to know is on his lecture slides.

Professor Zhu is awesome. So far I have taken two classes from him. He makes philosophy really interesting by incorporating funny stories with the topic. To some people he comes off as mean. If you act like an idiot, be prepared to be treated like one. All of his tests are based off his lectures so make sure to take good notes!

Under rated professor I took the class just to transfer and by the end of it ended up learning stuff that still stuck with me a year later. He puts in a lot of stories and may come off mean but he's really not he just doesn't let students walk over him. The accent is only hard at first by the end you won't even notice it.

I took Zhu Fall 2015 semester. His lectures are long and boring. He tries to make lectures interactive by telling stories to help you understand the material better. The class is pretty easy, 1 term paper, 2 tests, and a final, Which are all very easy. Easy class, just drags on. It's not a terrible class, but it's not very good either. Your call.

Professor Zhu was a brilliant instructor. Engages the classroom, funny, and perhaps my favorite part about him was the way he explained concepts, ideas, and principles. If at first some ideas seemed difficult to grasp his explanation(s) would make them easy to understand. By far my best professor at AVC.

I really enjoyed Prof. Zhu. His lectures are long but he always has a funny story that he applies to the lecture for better understanding of the material. He makes a lot of references to the textbook but you can probably get by without it. The only homework he assigns is a question at the end of each class

Professor Zhu can be funny. He likes to make up stories for the lessons which can be helpful. He has a thick accent but it was easy to get used to. If you have any questions about grades, even after class he will often interrupt you and tell you to come to office hours. He also seems condescending when you try to dispute grades or ask for clarity.

3 tests that are split in half, so it's more like 6 small ones. All open book. Hw assignments, usually quick and easy. Checks them the following class meeting. He teaches the subject very well. However the material is just something you either get or don't. I wouldn't suggest skipping class, especially in the last half of the semester. Use the book

WHAT A BRAIN...HE IS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TRULY A GREAT PROFESSOR. HE DOES HAVE A HEAVY ACCENT BUT I SAT IN FRONT OF HIM TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND HIM MORE CLEARLY. I LOVE THAT HE GIVES YOU MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO GAIN POINTS VIA HIS "CREDIT CARD SYSTEM". HIS GRADING SCALE IS FAIR AND BASED ON THE HIGHEST GRADE IN THE CLASS AS THE BASELINE.

Prof. Z, is a great teacher. His accent is thick, and he seems harsh. Just do the homework, don't fall asleep, study and be respectful and you will succeed. He gives you funny stories/examples to relate to concepts being taught and literally gives you the answers to EVERYTHING.I studied for tests 20 minutes before class and received an A.

He is very hard to understand. If you plan on showing up as much as a few minutes late don't take this class. Don't ever answer with your own opinion because it is wrong. He has a specific answer he is looking for. Don't even bother asking him questions because if they are not what he is talking about then he doesn't know. Forget asking questions during class he will just tell you to come to his office hours.
