Do not take her class. Shes a good person, but her class is impossible. You cant understand her, she doesnt put her lecture content or anything from the textbook on the tests and shes a super harsh grader on all of her assignments.

Yuhua Qiao is a pretty good professor. As mentioned by everyone else, she is a little hard to understand in lecture, but it's not that you'll miss what she's saying. It's very obvious what she's trying to convey. If you go to class and at least remember *some* things from high school, you'll pass. Just grow up, it's not that hard, guys...

Her lectures are impossible to understand and do not have anything to do with her tests. She grades incredibly harshly, even though she doesnt specify what she wants. Shes a good person but an awful teacher. Do not take her classes.

Definitely could not understand this professor. My worst class ever, because she didn't know how to register herself with the proper online book, she changed the book in the middle of the first month. Students weren't able to get books for over a month. Expects perfection when she herself can't even type her syllabus with no errors. plus more

Loved her class! her accent can be a little tough sometimes but she always explains everything and she is also more than happy to answer any questions. Also she follows with the book really well. She genuinely cares about her students!

Listening to her was difficult but luckily the textbook she assigns is very easy to read and understand. She does post power points online but they can also be hard to follow at times. If you go to her office she is more than happy to explain things you don't understand. She assigns 2 presentations and a book review so be prepared to work a little.

She is very hard to understand making it hard to pay attention to her lectures. Her tests are also really difficult and ask very detailed questions. Overall, she's a nice person but wouldn't recommend taking her class.

She was very confusing and boring in her lectures. I really wished other professors taught Public Administration. She was a very unfair grader on the papers and exams contained a lot of trick questions and not clear either. Avoid if you can.

She is very hard to understand. The class in general can be easy but with her as a professor, it can be hard. She does make study guides for the test. She gives her opinion on things a lot. You can easily zone out of the class because sometimes you just do not know what she is saying. But she gives extra credit for full attendance at of semester.

I personally did fine in her class, but I can understand why some people wouldn't like her. She was very nice, but she was very biased which can be annoying. Her accent may also be a problem for some people even though I had no problem understanding her. The tests are easy to study for and the quizzes are easy 100's.

Loved this class! I'll admit that her accent is a little hard to understand at first, but after a few lectures you'll get used to it. She makes lectures interesting and encourages student participation in discussions. She also brings in guest speakers that go along with her lectures. The assignments were simple and were helpful to learning.

Hit or miss. She is very nice and has good intentions, but I made the mistake of taking her class right during the election, and she wouldn't stop pushing her liberal values on everyone. Other than that you have to come to class everyday, and she will make it easy for you. Very helpful outside of class. The class is kind of hard but she is helpful.

Dr. Qiao is a very nice lady, but her accent is extremely hard to understand. She also does not talk very loud, so I would suggest trying to sit as close as possible. She is easy to tune out because you really have no idea what she is saying. Overall, your tests pretty much make up your grade in the class, with an occasional paper or two.

If you do not find history to be interesting, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. It is hard to focus, because she does not speak very good english. She is also very hard to understand, and 100% pushes her democratic views on the class. She does give study guides, but they are broad and take too much time to fill out. Tough class if you aren't a PLS major.

Professor Qiao was a good teacher once you get used to the accent. She cares a lot about the material and we would usually spend the first 5-10 min of class talking about current events. She is a relatively easy grader, I got a 100% on the group project and essay, as long as you follow the instructions. The test are all multiple choice.

She is very hard to understand due to her accent and she talks quietly. I never went to class, and just taught myself in the library during the class time because it was WAY more beneficial. Honestly I think her assignments are just pointless, but you still have to do them because she doesn't assign much. Try to avoid her if you can.

Very difficult to understand. Knows a lot about the subject and is a nice lady, but her lectures are hard to follow. Test are not bad. Overall, just boring lectures that are difficult to comprehend. You basically teach yourself from reading the book.

Dr. Qiao is a sweet lady that is very smart and funny. Her accent was thick, but it is easy to understand after a week or two. make flash cards and use the book to complete the online quizzes (that you can take multiple times). Easy A if you stay interested in class and go to every lecture.
