Comment:
Dr. Winkler is one of the most prepared professors I have ever had. She provides a notes packet with detailed information and graphs and I can't imagine how I would have figured out some of the more complex mathematical concepts without those guides. Print them out and use them! Her lectures are well paced and well organized.

The biggest problem I have is getting help with this class. It is a difficult class, so going to the lectures is a good idea, but she can't explain things well. Not only that, but she cannot explain her own examples. She just says read the book if you ask for help. Her lectures aren't even in the book. I have seen her yell at a student. Pathetic.

Comment:
Professor Winkler is a great teacher. 4100 is a demanding class because learning the material is inherently time-intensive and the details of terminology really matter, but her grading is fair. If you put in the hours necessary to keep up with the reading and do _every_ problem set well, you will learn a lot.

Dr. Winkler is a caring and supportive professor that cares about the current and future success of her students. She is able to make what are historically very difficult and challenging classes more enjoyable and less stressful. I really enjoyed her class on Work, Family, and Public Policy.

This professor was awful. Lectures were confusing and all over the place. But mostly, she doesn't respect you. Nearly yells at you in class; definitely yells at you in her office. Why did she become a professor? She clearly hates students, especially female students.

Not helpful. Not nice. Not interesting. Boring lectures. Doesn't seem to understand her own examples. I'm not sure how she is a professor - she isn't very smart. And she doesn't care about her students at all. Disappointing class!

Dr. Winkler really knows her stuff and is very enthusiastic about economics. Her class can be dry and boring at times, but at long as you SHOW UP TO CLASS, take notes, and do the ungraded problem sets, you should have no problem passing the class with at least a B. very helpful though.

People who take Dr. Winkler's class, stick with and put in the effort will leave with a wealth of useful information. Highly recommended to those who have the dedication.

I hated this class, it was extremely difficult and made almost no sense. I would not recommend this professor to anyone, I retook this class with a different professor and did much better, he made it much easier.

Professor Winkler is outstanding. She is the epitome of the term "educator". She won the chancellor's award for outstanding teaching at U.M. St. Louis and is currently in the running for the president's award (entire UM system). Taking her class ensures hard work and the accquisition of a new friend and mentor.

Dr. Winkler is very enthused about economics, even though it can be a somewhat dry subject. Her exams really test your knowledge and understanding of the material. Be prepared for a lot of notes, but if you pay attention, she is a good professor to take.
