No idea why people are complaining about Stan. He is nice, he is smart, and he literally gives you the answers to his exam questions in the notes. Seriously. Write down everything he writes down and make sure you understand it; that's all that is ever in the tests. This class is honestly not hard as long as you pay attention.

The tests are hard, however he makes available practice tests, which are the key to success. Get the practice tests, work through them, and go spend some time in his office. With that said, Stan is one of the most genuine, sincere professor I have had at PSU. He is engaging, friendly, entertaining, and is willing to help if you seek it.

Too many video game-playing dolts will trash this guy because he expects you to THINK, LEARN, and make an EFFORT! Lazy Powerpoint learners will whine. That's why you got a "D". Grow up!

He made really complicated stuff very easy to understand. No slides which makes it easy to follow him. I was recording his lectures and did not open the book (mostly because you do not need it since his exams are based on what he teaches us in class and not on what we learn by ourselves). Great professor.

I don't get why so many people don't like him. Stan is awesome! Here's the deal: only chalk. No power point. So, get to class on time, sit near the front, take good notes, and you'll be fine. Do not read the textbook. I didn't touch the textbook all term long, took good notes, recorded lectures, and got a high A. He is a fun, awesome teacher.

I look back & really appreciate Dr. H's lectures. I learned LOT about physiology. If you can read, you can learn the material alone. He goes more in depth & his lectures, despite only chalk, are always fascinating. If you want someone to hold your hand, he's not for you. I never got an A on an exam, but I got an A in the class! Work hard in lab.

Class was awful,he was very unhelpful, lectures drag on, grade based entirely on ridiculous and useless question exams that do not pertain to human physiology. He needs to come into the 21st century and teach relevant material not just flux calculations. I can't believe people sign up for his course.

Stan Hillman is the worst professor I have ever had. Sure his lectures are good, until the first exam. Then you realize how little he cares about his students. The exams are confusing, terribly written, and NOT APPLICABLE material. EVERYTHING IS ABOUT FLUX. Not applicable physiology just flux calcs. Do not take Hillman unless you want to fail A&P.

He doesn't give you anything to go off of. He seems to know what he is talking about but when it comes to tests watch out. If you like lectures and don't want to be graded this is a wonderful audit class.

This is an incredibly time consuming class. If you aren't going to work, don't take it. The material is not difficult but the tests will kill you. If you will get discouraged with a bad test grade- don't take this class. Stan is great, though. Interesting lectures. The class isn't only about your grade

Tests are unfair and include topics that you can't even find online to practice or understand better. I go to every class and take awesome notes and study really hard but still the tests are disproportionately UNFAIR, irrelevant questions. Also he is curt and doesn't answer questions. Canceled his office hr. day before a test. Outdated methods.

Hillman is OLD SCHOOL. This throws people off at first because he doesn't use an over head or powerpoint - just good ol' fashion chalk! But he knows his stuff and will help you if you're stuck. Even though there's no study guide or note slides, he gives previous exams for pre-tests. His class makes you study - which is good - I got an A. =)

Stan is a great teacher. He lectures on exactly what you need to know for the tests. Stan is also approachable in office hours. Always made me feel at ease asking questions and I never left his office until I understood my questions.

Hillman was a great professor. You have to show up to class if you want to succeed in this course because he explains a lot of things, that he puts on tests, that aren't in the book. Hillman really knows his stuff. Just read the book, show up for class, and go over the preview exams and you'll do great!

If you go to class and take notes you'll do alright. He gets into some very nitty gritty detail though.

Hillman is a good teacher. He's the old fashioned "chalk and talk" type. Not boring, his tests are ok, if you read the book and ATTEND class. He says stuff that's not in the book, so you had better come! Nice guy, and knows his stuff

Comment:
Hillman knows his stuff. But his lectures are extremely disorganized, he doesn't always fully explain things at first, but if you ask then he'll go into detail. The one killer is that he doesn't provide a study guide for tests, but he does provide previous tests as pre-tests.
