He is a genuine person who teaches with passion. The material was difficult, however he always reinforced the information in class discussions which made it much more clear. He always answers emails & buying the books are necessary to do well. He is a hard grader but if you follow his instructions, it's not too bad. Very doable workload.

Professor Sciglitano made this class so fun for me. I don't have a lot of experience with religious classes/philosophical discussions and he made the content super accessible. He even found a way to relate Jesus to superman. Really great guy. Made my religion requirement as a stem major something to look forward to.

Amazing professor but a little harsh on grading papers and wants everything concise. Overall, 2 papers, 7 quizzes, and 1 final that he gives you. You don't have to read all the time because he gives a good lecture on the readings.

Dr. Sciglitano is great. If he knows you are interested in learning more about philosophy, he will happily sit down with you and talk to your heart's content on any matter. He helped me learn more about my faith!

Nice guy, but his lectures can be boring and confusing. Oral midterm and the final is just writing essays. No other quizzes/tests. Make sure you have the books and actually do the reading!!

Very nice guy. Lighthearted class. Many readings, but grasp the important concepts from them & participate as much as possible & he notices, it will help. 3 short response papers, but don't slack on them. Midterm & final based on notes, so if you pay attention & *take good notes* the exams & the class won't be hard. Don't skip class a lot.

I would never want to take this professor again. He picks people out to participate in class. He grades response papers unnecessarily hard and bases a lot of grading on grammar rather than the actual content relevant to the course. Tried reaching out for help and was told to just read the text. I do not recommend.

Not a fun class. He is a great and nice guy, but the lectures are so confusing, and never follow the syllabus. He grades pretty harsh and even when you think you might have done great, still end up with below an A. Not my favorite class

This definitely ranks as one of the most boring classes I've taken. Lectures are very hard to follow and he doesn't go by the syllabus. Prof Sciglitano is very nice, intelligent and caring, but the course content and the way he presents it make it exceedingly dry.

I have him for Christian Belief and Thought and he is super nice but his grading expectations and syllabus are very unclear. He is very smart and knows his stuff but because his syllabus is confusing its hard to keep up with what you have to read and where you are in the class. Readings aren't specific. I found myself asking him alot of questions

Had Sciglitano for Christianity and Culture and Dialogue. A core, philosophy/religion based class. I enjoyed the readings, and thus the lectures also(however I didn't always read, and he did give you a good review of the text). Other students never read and he would still engage them in class discussions. Will learn if you just put in a little work

This professor really knows what he's talking about & communicates it well with the class. I found his lectures interesting most of the time.. it's not all about religion, sometimes its about the meaning of life! Anyway I recommend him. I really didn't want to take this class, but he definitely made it more tolerable.

He is such a nice professor. You will have interesting lectures and class discussions. He is so passionate about the subject. No one wants to take a CORE class, but he is probably the best person to take it with. You can always go to his office hour for extra help or an intersting discussion. I got an A

Likes to lecture. Supportive of opinions, but usually directs your opinions into the "correct" meanings according to the text, which can be good and bad.
