Comment:

My absolute favorite professor so far. She genuinely cares for what she's teaching and takes an interest in each and every student in her class. The class is an easy A as long as you attend on speech days and are well prepared for your own speech. Loves visual aids.

Comment:

Great teacher! She does well explaining the assignments and preparing for tests and speeches. The TA's do most of the work since the class is online because of COVID. Very personable. Be prepared to take some time working on your speeches.

April is an easy Public Speaking teacher. Ended class with an A. All quizzes were on quizlet. As long as you try you will pass. Only thing I did not like was how long she took to answer emails an could be rude when addressing questions you had.

I was unfortunate enough to have Mrs. Dupree-Taylor as an advisor and a professor and I had a really negative experience. She was incredibly hard to get in touch with via email and was not very specific on assignment criteria and due dates. After days/week trying to get in touch with her when I complained to other faculty she called me a liar, So..

She was by far the best public speaking teacher I've had! She loved to hear a good story and boy could she tell them. She made speaking easy and fun and loved to hear our feedback. She graded very fair and made her class a nice friendly place to be.

Took this as a "Hybrid" class - primarily online, only eight days in classroom - one orientation, one ice-breaker, three times to give speeches, and three times to listen to speeches. Never saw or received a personal email from the actual professor once. Ms. Brooke Riddle was the grad assistant for my class, she was really good.

Comment:

Only talks about her family and does not offer helpful advise. She tests you on subjects that she did not discuss and creates a tense atmosphere in her classroom. We spent more time discussing current events then actually learning how to be a good public speaker. If you actually want to learn you should pick another teacher.

LOVED HER! Very Fun!!! I was actually sad when the class was over! She makes you feel very comfortable and helps everyone open up and get to know each other before you have to give a speech! which really helped me because I hate speaking in front of people, but I felt like I was talking to friends ! She great! TAKE HER!

Took this course online. You never see her only the TA when you go to give speeches. Dr. Dupree is very helpful though and will answer any questions you send her promptly. I would not recommend this course if you are a slacker because there is online work due each week. Good class. I learned a alot

She can not stay on topic and will waste your time talking about things that do not pertain to class. Normally, I like when teachers go off topic about something interesting. But I couldn't stand her.

She is the best teacher ever!!! She is really fun. She goes over the test throughly before you take it. She teaches off powerpoint but makes it really interesting and fun. You only have a few writing assignments to do and test(which come directly from the notes). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This teacher is the worst one I have EVER had in my life. I took public speaking online during the summer. For one of my speeches she changed my arranged time to present it and I could not make it because I had another class. She said I could come after class- then when I got there would not let me present it even when other students were stillther

She told funny stories about her life, it was interesting at first, but got old quick. The material was very simple, but would have been better in an online course or in the summer. She is not terrible, but suggest taking her during a short semester. Most people did well, but she seemed to make sure a few would not.

Comment:

Professor Dupree teaches you only about things that have happened in her life. Takes up class time talking about her son, cannot stay on topic. Plays favorites like you would not believe. Has lost multiple student assignments and tells them it is their fault. Exceedingly vain, does not care about students at all. Avoid if at all possible.

Completely unprofessional. Treats students as though it is an elementary school. Class is extraordinarily easy, yet she will go out of her way to make sure you don't get points if she does not like you. Favors students who attend her church, work at clothing stores, or that can get her deals on technology installations. Get ANY other teacher!!
