Dull teacher. No enthusiams for what he teaches. Most of our class tried with all their might just to stay awake. He uses so many graphs that it makes it extremely confusing.

He talks in a monotone voice and is slightly boring on some days but he's very smart and knows what he's talking about. His tests are kind of hard unless you read the book and do the online practice questions.

Sockwell = "Snorewell" Indeed, I wanted to take a nap instead of go to his class everyday. He is a really sweet guy, and is wililng to help you on an individual basis if you need it, but his class is boring beyond belief!!! His tests are actually kind of difficult...but that might've been because I took no interest in the class, so I found it hard

I took "sleepwell Sockwell" for intro, and yes, I slept almost every day. He's a nice guy, but speaks softly and in a monotone. Tests were pretty easy if you just read the chapter summaries and get someone to give you old tests. Basically I taught myself econ and this class made me choose a BA instead of a BS because I didn't want to take more ECO.

Well, a LOT of the material on tests wasn't covered in lectures (if you can manage to stay awake. Not saying he's a bad guy, its just something about his voice that puts you to sleep). Really put too much faith in people treating the book like a Bible. Unless you are hardcore into Econ, I suggest you stay away. Would be GREAT if u are awesome @ eco

Sockwell is a real nice guy but he is not the best professor. His monotone voice left me struggling to pay attention so eventually, I just stopped trying. If you decide to take him read the book or if you’re pushed for time, the summaries at the end of the chapters. The tests rarely come from the notes and the sample questions didn’t help either

He will put you to sleep in class and lost me a lot of the times so I just stopped listening. Not very good, but it is helpful that he weighs your grades differently based on how well you do, but if you cannot do well on a test that doesnt help and he doesnt offer any other extra credit.

This is the way classes should be taught. I like Dr. Sockwell's straightforward, lecture approach, and I have learned a ton in his classes. I would recommend them to anyone--particularly his history of economics course.

Well we do call him sleepwell. He is a little monotone. But he's generally a pretty good teacher. And his tests are quite easy. And the best part...the final is not cumulative!!!
