Dan made me smile. I'll always remember that. I wasn't always the best of students but he was understanding and kept an open mind. I would be glad if we crossed paths again He was always kind to me.

Comment:

Intro to Theatre was a lot of dull lectures punctuated by Wirth's offbeat and colorful humor. Attendance is mandatory, unfortunately, and he does take attendance. Otherwise, it was an easy class and we got to actually put on short plays at the end so it wasn't all lectures. He's a Theatre guy so taking other Media classes with him might be dull.

He is a very personable prof. and is enthusiastic about the topic. You don't need to study too much, just look over definitions briefly. He is funny and very helpful. I ended up with an A. It's an educational "fluff" class. He turned me on to a major in communications. Take his class!!!

Cool guy, laid back, he is late to class a lot but only by a few minutes and I can't figure out why that's such an issue with some of the other reviewers. Wish he would make class materials available online though as I misplaced a few handouts near test and project turn in time.

Wirth's classes are always easy and he is very laid back. Just make sure you ask questions if you feel something was not explained well enough. He is usually late for class, so keep that in mind. Laugh at his jokes even if they aren't funny, he's a nice guy. I took art of film and video with him and it was an easy A. Would take him again

Covers A LOT of material but doesn't explain it well hands out a thousand handouts and then pretty much just reads them. Doesn't really teach very scattered always late. Commented almost half of his comm class fails his midterm maybe he's doing something wrong

He is funny and really helpful! With every speech class all you do it speeches but there is one 1 test and its take home. He makes that class fun. I liked him and so did everyone else in my class.

His intense lack of clarity is a direct result of his lack of passion for material. Things are made ten times more difficult than they need to be. Besides, you can tell he doesn't give a damn about you. RUDE--CURT--Unfriendly--I think he should get a new job!

He is a good professor. I am a science person, not quite in tune with all of the arty fartsy film interests, yet he made the course in such a way that even the artistically chalenged could easily succeed. I would take a crouse with him again.

Dan is the man-his sarcastic,humorous and unconventional methods of teaching intro to film prevent you from banging your head against the desk as you learn about proscenium style theatres and the like..I would definitely take him again...show effort and he will show you the grade.
