Not what I expected, but better. The type of teacher I like - you learn what you want. If you are a slackass, don't take his class, cause you'll get killed. But if you're at school to be a good student, and have an interest in the media. You'll listen. You'll learn.

This guy is a great prof. Laid back style. He talks with you not down to you but makes his point without yelling when cell phones go off or other stuff. I am already using some of the stuff I learnd.

Darryl Smith is the best professor I have ever had. He wants you to learn and YOU WILL learn. You'll actually WANT to read the textbook. Lectures are 2 way, and he really wants you to learn but does it in an engaging way. His IQ is also in the top 4% of the entire world. Used to be an attorney. Cool dude. Do your work well and youll get an A

I took this class because of the multicultural requirement. I thought it was going to be the typical class in PC. It wasn't. Mr. Smith is a great teacher. He lectures and gives examples and doesn't mind if you disagree with him. He wants you to think and develop your own opinion as long as you can justify it. I wish my other profs were like him.

I have taken 4 classes with Darryl Smith and should have taken another instead of with Karimi. Darryl Smith is extremely intelligent and is a good guy. A little strange, but it's cool. His classes are interesting and we halways had class discussions. Not so much in radio production but in the others. I would take him again.

Mr. Smith knows his stuff. He teaches both the book stuff as well as what happens in reality. He arrives right on time and starts teaching. He can seem tough sometimes but he does really care. I have another class with him next semester.

Great teacher overall, I learned so much in Broadcast Management. He does lecture kind of rapidly, but I've had teachers that spoke faster than him. Other than that I find that he is one of the best teachers that I have had at UWF.

He is a very knowledgeable person, really knows his stuff. Be on time because he begins his lectures the second he walks in the door. Read the book! The only thing I didn't like is that he doesn't use a syllabus, so you dont know ur assignments if ur absent and there's no test dates on paper. Be prepared! He's a cool guy though.

This was a hard class, but the it will be useful. READ the book and come to class and you will do OK. I made the mistake of thinking that this was like other communication classes until I had the first test. I started showing up and reading and my test grades went way up. Smith is a GREAT teacher (NO BS). I am taking more of his classes.

Mr. Smith is one of the most engaging, personable, and funny teachers I've ever had! He's so good that his lectures are still interesting at 8am. He is very knowledgeable and has a delightfully dry, sick sense of humor. If you show up, do your case studies and your reading assignments, you will make an A and have actually learned quite a bit.

Darryl knows law and makes it fun. I thought I was going to be bored but I enjoyed the class. Darryl slides in a lot of jokes that you don't get until later on. He is more interested in you learning the stuff for real life more than for tests. This was my 3rd class with him. I'll take anything he teaches.

Such a cool teacher! Smith keeps class interesting always. He's not super hard just make sure you're in class and pay attention to the material and you'll get an A. Plus, Darryl's really funny so it's not that bad going to class. Take any classes with him that you can.
