Comment:
If you want an easy A then hes a good professor. In terms of the material he shouldn't be teaching tech comm. Super vague in his directions and syllabus. Gave out 100's for almost all the HW but then will switch up when he decides to care about grammar and conciseness. Gives no direction on how he will grade.

Hudgens is probably the easiest professor I've ever taken. A very polite man, just show up, listen to the lecture, and do the tests. As long as you write enough on tests, you'll get an A and be exempt from the final.

Many of the class periods are spent watching movies/various videos. Grade is based on participation (loosely) and essays assigned in class. Essays are not graded critically - put in some semblance of effort and you'll surely get an A. If you're looking for a stress free class/professor to boost your GPA, I would highly recommend Hudgens!

Philosophy 100 was nothing exciting with Hudgens. For most class days, he simply just lectured. Sometimes I caught myself falling asleep. Lots of movies that you have to respond to made it pretty easy. He cancelled a lot of class days for our class which made it nice. An attendance sheet is passed around every day so if you want credit, show up.

Overall a nice and easy class, though lectures are sometimes boring, he does try to make it interesting by showing how philosophy is applicable in real life situations (such as in movies). Overall I would recommend this class.

Took for Tech Comm 2. While other classes were writing detailed reports, we were writing letters to imaginary teachers and making one slide power points 5 minutes before class that you had two weeks to complete. Speech for almost every paper. Speech consists of you reading off computer for two minutes. Lectures ran off on other tangents. Easy A

One of the most boring classes you'll take, his lecturing are often messy and he goes on 30 minute long tangents (If you're lucky he'll spend a whole class discussing different sushi), but also extremely easy. Read a few pages, pay attention to the movies and just know how to write well and you'll pass.

Hudgens is an easy professor, but I left his Intro to Philosophy class asking myself what the point of the class was. All it involved was watching movies. I am a person who is actually interested in the subject, but all I received was a glorified Film Appreciation class.

took intro to philosophy. Easy class, mostly watched movies. The tests were fairly easy as well. I studied an hour before the tests and got an A on every single one. Make sure you fill out the required number of pages when taking the tests, it seems the people who didn't get an A on the tests simply didnt write enough.

Roughly every Friday there is an exam. Don't be worried though, they are only 20-50 questions long, and if you download the free text he provides, all the answer are in there. He is very clear about what is expected of his students. I would suggest getting old exams and class materials from a student who already took the class, fairly easy.

Dr. Hudgens was my adviser for 3 years, and was in charge of my IS capstone paper. He gave me a lot of freedom in what my topic was, how I formatted my paper, and when we met together. As long as you are self motivated, you will do fine in any of Hudgen's classes.

Very good teacher. You watch a lot of movies but the guy is a worldly person. He is very knowledgeable even though you watch a lot of clips of movies.

Very interesting professor. Good if you want someone different from the norm. Essays are strictly controlled but have very interesting comment and the lectures are fun to hear. Covers a wide area of information and makes students think a bit different.
