Comment:

I took both her 330A and 330B classes. Those were two of the very few classes where I actually learned useful skills for an accounting job. You follow her videos and if you do your Excel spreadsheets correctly, there is no reason not to get an A in this class. She's available outside class to help too.

Comment:

Professor Stanny is my favorite instructor at Sonoma State. She is kind, very smart, helpful. She is a pleasure to be around, more than any other instructor I've met. She's totally cool. Really appreciate her chill style and think she is incredbly smart. Go girl!!!

She had lots of knowledge in accounting and learned a lot from her class but she wasn't so clear in her lectures or videos. She also had feedback that was interesting but sometimes irrelevant.

Every week there is a quiz due but as long as you follow her spreadsheets then youll get a good grade on the quiz. Stanny is super sweet and has flexible office hours. She responds quick to emails and can look at your quizzes before submitting.

The first half of the semester is review and the second half is new material. She was great for review, but she teaches the second part of class as if we have already learned the material she is covering. She goes too fast to retain the information. Stanny is a bit hard to approach if you have any questions.

I've taken her for 2 difference courses and her teaching style is the same. She has no interest in her students. Majority of her teachings are recorded videos from years ago. You spend lots of time working on your own at home. That has its pros and cons - go at your own pace, but lacks feedback or assistance. She wouldn't be my professor of choice.

Dr. Stanny is awesome!!! Her class is great, she lectures about the chapter for about an hour and about 30 mins is used for reviewing the quiz. You HAVE to keep up with the moodle assignments and make all of your spreadsheets as you go along! If you don't, YOU WILL FAIL. If you make the spreadsheets, easy A. Don't waste money on textbook! not used

She offers ample extra credit if you go to class but you can basically take the whole course online minus the exams. Follow the videos and ask questions, go to class if you don't get it, you can ask questions the next class and have a 1 time redo on the homework. I would take her again!

Taking online during the summer, spreadsheets take time but makes a lot of sense. Her videos are great and is always willing to help out when needed. Learned a lot and definitely would take her again. Very cute as well, you got to put in the time but no reason you shouldn't get an A just follow the videos.

The class was mainly online, I only had to show up twice besides for the two tests. Her voice in the videos online is monotone and it's extremely boring, but really easy. All you have to do is copy her spreadsheets. I ended up spending more time doing the spreadsheets than I would have liked, but you only have to do one quiz a week.

She is a performance based teacher. In other words, no none sense rambling. She gives lectures from start to finish. Attendance is not mandatory, so you can do the work online. She is tech savvy and requires Exel skills for her class work. Does not give extra credit, but she is professional and fair, so she is a pleasure to work with.

Professor Stanny is an excellent instructor. Her class is clear and straight forward. There is a lot of homework and quizzes every week based on the homework. Two exams given during the semester related to the homework. Have your excel spreadsheets ready for every quiz and exam, they should mirror your homework. She offers plenty of help!

I really like Elizabeth Stanny. I took BUS 430 online class this summer. There are 9 quizzes and 2 midterms. As long as you have your excel worksheet done and watched all the videos she posted, you can get a good grade.

Prof. Stanny gives every appearance of complete disinterest in her class. Learning time was far less than 12 the allocated time. She didn't like answering questions during class, often becoming irritated and abrupt. Follow her instructions exactly and read the text to get through class.

Stanny is not a good teacher if you are looking to continue your education in accounting. She may be well-educated on the subject, but she is dispassionate about teaching and doesn't know how to teach people who don't know as much as her. Since you are paying for your education, pay for someone who actually wants to teach.

Comment:

Take good notes in class on excel. That is the key to passing her class. The online section of the class is not very helpful so seeking outside help is a must. Read before class and do not ask stupid questions, Stanny doesn't put up with that. She goes fast but she really does want every student to learn the material.

If you complete the homework assignments and verify your spreadsheets with her before the exams you should have no problem in the class. The homework is time consuming but you will learn a lot. If you have any issues she's very approachable and willing to take the time to help you out.

Took Stanny for both halves of intermediate accounting. 330B online was great! Do NOT miss any quizzes! Very helpful, notes are easy to understand, book is helpful but not required when you use her notes.
