Please listen to the other reviews and do not take this course. He FLIES through the work and does not take time to make sure everyone understands AT ALL. He makes you feel like a moron for asking questions. He is a cranky man. It seems that he tries to get on your level, but he fails.

Comment:

One of the worst teachers I ever had. He's all over the place and skips important steps when lesson is introduced. Puts limitations on the amount of times you can work homework problems, each section requires 70% before moving on. Have to do the review tests but they don't count toward grades. Very grumpy and yells alot. Hard to follow for sure!!!

STOP!!! DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS TEACHER. If you want to be lost and confused this is the teacher to pick for your upcoming math course. He is all over the place, skips all the important steps, and has absolutly not patience with anyone except for the student who makes 100 on every assignment. Always yelling about something. Make math even more boring. Have respect towards "A" students. Anyone else doesn't really matter. Pick his favorite in class. If you do not know the answer to something, he gets upset. students are too scare to ask questions because sometime he treat it like a stupid question or you are stupid if you don't know it. I prefer to spend time in tutors.

I really enjoyed his class. He was clear and his lectures gave the subject clarity. He showed patience and interest in the subject. At the end of the course I had forgotten to take an outcome, and he really went the extra mile to make sure I finished and recieved credit!AWESOME! wish he taught College Algebra

Mr. Dobbins is not hard, as long as you do your work. He does require your HW be done, but it is very helpful for the tests. He also lets you do test corrections for extra pts on your grade! He was easy to follow-but with ANY math course if you don't understand something--ASK! He's very helpful.

Mr. Dobbins is the best. His class is HARD, but he is fair, and gives plenty of chances for test corrections. If you can pass his class, you wil fly through college algebra. He really teaches the fundementals of algebra, and drills the Quadratic Formula into your head.

Although this professor isn't full-time, if you are able to get in to his class - do it! He actually makes you enjoy Math, well, almost. He lets you know basically what type of problems will be on his tests without it being a guessing game. He is very thorough with the information and just overall great. Highly reccommended.
