Comment:

Professor Peng is not only a great professor but also a caring one. She makes real finance industry examples in class that are easier to understand for her students. Her midterms are so so fair if you go over her homework and sample exams she always posts. The final was difficult, but I think it's bc the final was written by multiple professors.

Comment:

Prof. Peng made this class very interactive by including students in her lecture examples. The first two midterms were easy (make sure to practice the hw questions and class examples to do well). The final was pretty hard, but I still got an A in the class even though I got an 80. She also gives E.C., so make sure to do it and to participate

She is a really passionate professor. Very clear and explains the material very well. She cares about her students and very knowledgeable. All of her exam are ok, take advantage of the midterms and don't panic about the final it is actually not as hard as it sounds from other students. Final was very ok. Its all based in the homework.

Truthfully, This class is tough to get. Added to this, is this Professor- her class is dull & so is she. She makes things sound more complicated & makes you do more work. Her sample tests don't always help & her final was out of this world. Final is worth 45% & is cumulative. Its possible to get a B- though. She just doesn't make your life easier.

Super nice professor with very clear expectations of the class. If you study the slides as well as do the homework and practice midterms you will be fine. She also curve your final grade, but you NEED to study hard for the final !!!!!! It's nothing like the practice test, you have to read the textbook lol.

Super unclear with the way she explains concepts which makes it almost impossible to follow her. The class is easy but she manages to make it seem hard due to poor teaching.

Professor Peng is a good professor and does her best to lecture her class in a effective manner. Her first two tests are quite fair, good studying will get you good scores, and then her final comes along and drops you a letter grade. Study harder for the final then you did for the first two tests and getting a B is very possible. Do Extra Credit

I ve been to a few different schools and happened to have good professors. That being said I really felt like I was back in 9th grade in her class starting with the way she addresses the class and ending with clumsy "explanation" of Fin3000 material. The class is easy cuz you don't go beyond fin3000 for the exception of optimal weights and options.

Best prof for finance. material is hard but she does such a great job at explaining. you have to put in the work, everyone wants it all spoon fed to them. final was cumulative and focused largely on the later portion of the chapters. highly recommend, just make sure you know how to do the hw and you'll be fine. shes cute as well, that doesnt hurt

Comment:

Students with the comments below rather want someone to spoon-feed them. While this might be a challenging class, it's arguably fair to say it's possible to get an A. I personally thought Professor Peng was a decent lecturer and educator. I learned quite a lot from her lectures which I tend to use in my daily professional life.

Don't know about the rest of the class, but I thought she did not care about you as a person who wants to learn. She makes you feel that you have very limited time discuss any questions you might have outside class lectures. Exams were fair, but the course is self-study and you will forgot everything taught because it is not practical.

Do yourself a favor and take this core class with someone else. Lectures are useless, confusing and repetitive. She is really weak as an lecturer: unable to keep the class engaged because she jumps from one thing to another, very hard to follow due to monotonous and unclear speech pattern, lectures are filled with redundant general theory.

Exam 1&2 are easy and based on online HWs and sample exams. Final was KILLER. It's cumulative but that's not the reason why it was hard; study Mrkt, Equity and Options Valuations (Cht 13, 15, &16) if you wanna do well on final. Her lectures are kind of useless and too theoretical. Self-study course to get an A.

If you want to be taught fiance do not take her. Classes are unstructured, unnecessary repeats herself, seems to be unprepared, makes a lot of mistakes.

She can be unclear about certain topics and forget to go over them, but they end up on the test. A lot of outside work needs to be done to do well. The final was very tricky, many people did poor on it.

She is very organized in her lecture. Goes over hard concepts with time and passes over easy material we should already know. The class has 2 midterms and a final along with 6 HW which were very relevant to passing the test. The final is really hard because of Options Derivatives; otherwise very fair.

Very vague in her lectures and topics not discussed in class appear on the final. It lowered my grade from an A- to a D. DO NOT take her!
