Only grades were the midterm and the final, no extra credit. I tried meeting with him multiple times but he never showed up! I have no idea how anyone could give him a positive review. I got a D in his class and was .0052 off from graduating with honors! DO NOT TAKE HIM

Great lectures, really knows what he's talking about. only 2 tests, final and midterm. a term paper, and two other small writing assignments. Pay attention and do well on the few things that are assigned!(not the easiest grader, but fair)

is the best professor I've had at Iona. He's so smart and really loves what he does, and it's infectious. He really wants to help and get you interested and asking questions. He made me want to go to graduate school for this. Seriously I can't say enough good things. It's a challenge but soo worth it. + I think he's hot which doesn't hurt :)

The best. Just the best. Just take a class from him already!!! He is funny, kind, interesting, sardonic, open-minded, modest- a lovely person and a fantastic teacher. Even if you think you don't like philosophy, you'll likely feel differently after taking his class.

Superb class. Professor Altman is an excellent teacher; he presents the material extremely clearly, he is great with helping out if you have questions, exams and papers aren't that difficult, and he is a fair grader. Lectures are interesting and entertaining -- he has a good sense of humor. Not your typical philosophy class. Highly recommended!

Altman is a great lecturer. He will overexplain everything, but still keep it relatively interesting. If you have trouble understanding the concepts that he goes over, than it's not him... it's you. Go to every lecture that you can and at least read his online notes.

Literally he's the greatest philosophy teacher I ever expected. He even made me consider minoring in philosophy. (Crazy right?) Take him for whatever class you can that he teaches. He knows how to lecture about complicated material and make it so his students can understand. My favorite class, I loved it a lot
