DON'T DO IT! I'm a psych major with a 4.0 and actually showed up and did my homework and I got a 30.5 on the first exam. The exams are insanely difficult, no matter how much you study (honestly). The weekly reading quiz questions are also unnecessarily difficult. All the questions do is trick you; they don't test your knowledge on the subject.

I really want to like Dr. Butler but she makes it so difficult. I enjoy talking to her 1-on-1 and her lectures can be interesting and fun but her exams are brutal. All short answer and gives zero credit for partially correct answers.

Dr. Butler definitely isnt the easiest professor, but shes one of the most interesting psychology professors at CWRU. Take advantage of the extra credit early on because that will help you a lot. The weekly quizzes are also incredibly important, so try and get full credit on those. If you attend the lectures and take detailed notes youll do well

Comment:
Ridiculous for an intro class. There are three exams worth much of your grade and they are formatted as fill in the blank/short answer. She is NOT friendly and her lectures don't have that much to do with the exams. There's a lot of reading to do each week and independent studying (get ready to memorize the book). Don't take this class with her

good professor, but information was pulled from presentation examples more than textbook information, which was annoying. Independent studying didn't really help me that much; i found it easier to review class presentations.

I really liked butlers class, but I admit it was very difficult for a 101 class. If you need psych in the future or are a psych major, Id recommend her class because you learn A LOT. If not, go with someone else. You basically have to memorize everything from the reading & lectures. Study your midterms for the final exam!!!

Going into it, I excepted low maintenance but she makes it very textbook intensive (weekly online quizzes on large reading sections), has only two exams and a final ALL FREE RESPONSE, doesn't produce review material, skims over slides which she uses heavily for tests, she is nice to those passionate abt psyc but difficult she makes you work for it.

The prompts for the essays were very vague and confusing. She takes about a month to get your essays back to you. Avoid her class if you can but if you get stuck with her she's not that bad. It's very hard to get an A. She can be kind of condescending. I do have to say she makes a great advisor, very knowledgeable on course policies.

There's only two tests in the class, and for each there is a ton of material, yet she always manages to find the smallest piece of information to test on. She gives absolutely no regard for any personal issues (including injuries and doctor's visits) so stay healthy if you wanna do well. The only upside is she offers extra credit. TLDR; stay away

drop the class if you have her, no matter what. she is extremely condescending, and does not make her expectations clear. as a result, she has a problem with more than half the class's papers and gives them bad grades. she is extremely unreasonable and is the hardest sages professor.

She does not care about personal issues. Are tests and quizzes are very detailed. She words her own test questions and they can be quite ambiguous. The lectures are interesting but this class is awful avoid at all cost or take with someone else.

I had her for SAGES, so attendance was mandatory. She favorites the swimmers and divers since she was one herself when she went to CWRU. She is very knowledgeable about CWRU and nice on a good day, but she is a super tough grader if you are not one of her favorites. I do not know how she is in regular classes, but she's ok overall for SAGES.

Easily one of my favorite classes. Lectures are interesting and incorporate lots of discussions. Grade is based on 3 midterms and a final, but I bombed the first exam and still ended up with an A in the class, so it's possible to do well if you put in the work. I found her to be very caring and approachable and would 100% take her class again.

One time she held us over class to ride a carousel on a field trip. Multiple people had a physics exam that day on the other side of campus and were late. That's pretty representative of what kind of professor she is

Plays favorites with her students, if you are a favorite you will get bumped up letter grades for doing minimal work. If not, you will not get an A, simple as that. Her bias should get her removed for being a professor on campus. Would never take again.
