Lectures are very boring and he does not use a mic, so it's very hard to hear his lecture. Goes over power points very quickly; trying to write down notes is useless. Tests are very hard,including info never covered in class. Rarely use textbook also. Online quizzes are also tough.

This class is very hard, and the teacher is even harder. He does not go over the material that is on the test and barely helps with questions. For this class you need to read the book, lectures, and online quizzes and then you can maybe pass with a C.

He is cool. Just pay attention and read your book. A lot of people over exaggerate when they say he's horrible. He's not. He's better than the other KIN teachers. He may get off topic but it's mostly for "clarification of the material" purposes. Nobody aces these tests (which are not made by him to begin with) but he will emphasize important facts.

I took this as an online class and knew going into it that it would be difficult and the tests included case studies. What I wasn't prepared for was the lack of direction with respect to test material and was blindsided more than once by questions that had nothing to do with what was covered in the lectures or the book.

The first day he scared the crap out of me, but he has really good stories. Give him a chance. Study hard!!! Lecture notes, book, and internet quizes and you still wont get an A+. This class is no walk in the park!

Comment:

PED100 in general is the worst class because the tests are difficult no matter who you are. As for Masterson, he was always on topic and went through the powerpoints making sure to highlight important areas that were to be on the test. After hearing about other teachers, I am glad I ended up with Masterson. Willing to help if you stay after class.

Do not take him for the lecture portion. He is horrible. All you do is go over the powerpoints. The test are difficult and some require math that is involved that he doesn't go over during class. i got a B in that class but I don't know how i ended up with a B. He knows what he is talking about but didn't learn anything. Avoid him.

If you think your just taking a regular PE class and the lectures are over like football and soccer this might be hard. The lectures are pretty easy to follow if you show up and really the lab is were all the points are. I liked him and I thought he had a great butt!

Grad School Classes only...Masterson is such a nice guy, but his classes are worthless. His e-mails are vague, you never understand what he wants, the work is dumb, you don't learn anything, and you waste your time. Enjoy being frustrated while trying to figure out what he wants--you're not going to learn a darn thing from this guy.

hes a nice guy and willing to help you, but his lectures are very boring and he just reads from his slides. his tests are on blackboard which is cool but they are pretty hard. overall the class was easy to get a 'B' in. lots of group work.

Dr. Masterson is knowledgeable in the subject matter but his difficulty is getting the information across clearly. He is very unorganized. His classes are very easy but you really never get much out of them besides what you go and research.
