He was a nice person and helpful but the class was incredibly hard. Lectures were very fast paced and there were crazy amounts of material. He didn't do much to engage his students in lectures, which I think would have helped.

I took mammology! The library has a test bank of every test. Pick 6 answers and memorize verbatim. Regurgitate for an A! Its hard but if you put in 5 hrs/test ull get an A and u dont have to go to class ever! Not a great teacher but hes hilarious and fun to talk to. Plus free sd zoo/wildpark trips! protip: bring booze on the field trips

I've taken both his Mammals course and endocrinology course. For both, he gives print out of notes and old tests to study from. from a pre-med's pov, the material wasn't conceptually difficult; it's just a lot of memorization and he's not lenient when it comes to grading so know your stuff

This class is tough. If you want an easy A or even B... do not venture into this course. However, Waggoner is a great teacher and really makes you know your stuff. Recommended for students who want to know what they are getting involved in med school!

Though it would be nice to have a recent review of Waggoner and I have one word: TOUGH!! Class averages are low, lectures are difficult to follow, and wording on tests can be really confusing. I wondered why his classes generally fill up slower than other upper division bio classes and now I know why. Try to avoid unless med school is your goal

What an awesome class. He is concerned with you LEARNING the material so tests are just copies of previous years. Lectures can be all over the place but you learn a TON of info overall. Just memorize old tests and you get an A.

If you like to memorize useless facts, this is the class for you!!!! Not a tricky professor. You have old exams to study off of.Trips are fun and it is the least field intensive course plus it counts as a diversity.

He's a good guy but his tests are hard. Just study all of your notes and try to read the book as well. There are always extra things on there and he expects you to know your stuff back and forth. You have to know everything possible about anything he tests you on. Lecture notes not online.

his lectures are very interesting. There is so much information that he tells you that it may sometimes seems overwhelming. the midterms are difficult if you don't study for them. he gives a little bit of extra credit. he has been teaching for a long time and knows the material well.

A wonderful teacher. His is one of the the few classes where I actually walk out feeling like i got my money's worth (and at $1000 a credit, that is no easy task). His tests are difficult but if you show up to class and study your notes it isn't a problem. Challenging but you'll learn a lot.

I agree, his tests are very detailed so you really need to know your stuff. While he does jump around and go on tangents, the tangents are usually interesting.You can't really miss a single day of class unless you know someone you can get good notes from. He lectures with every minute given in class

Very unclear about certain topics. He jumps around an awful lot and doesn't emphasize what we need to know. He goes off on tangents about irrelevant information. His test as SUPER HARD! I studied a lot and still had difficulty.

well so the class was in Africa, so I'm a little biased. The class rocked and he did a wonderful job w/ us. I reccommend studying abroad w/ him any day. it's the chance of a lifetime and only 4 days of real class!

Good class, lots of information to pick up on. The hardest part about this class (other than the damn near impossible tests) is that he jumps around WAY too much. There's no continuity to his classes.
