Prof. Beckman's speaking class entailed only four speeches all semester. I would have thought we'd be making speeches every class, if not every other class. She is only somewhat useful in her feedback but, to her credit, made a Saturday morning class enjoyable. A really neat person but not the best professor. She is no longer teaching at Hofstra.

Absolutely the easiest A you will ever get. Class was enjoyable and friendly. Do the speeches, open book midterm. EASY< EASY< EASY!!!!!

I had her Sat morning & the time flies by! Her acting experience def makes her a better speech teacher. She has a lot of knowledge & her skills really show - only class I've ever taken where you can truly see yourself & the other students progress. Even people who were afraid to get up there & speak did well & improved by semseters end. TAKE HER!

Prof. Beck was wonderful. Very knowledgable and enthusiastic. For a Saturday class I had no problem showing up. The brain teasers were the best. If you have to take Oral Communication take her. You won't be let down. I can promise you that.

DO NOT take this class with this woman! If you want to hear all about ACTING and how EVERY little thing about acting goes with speech. Painful 3 hour Sat class that I hated going to. Will pick on people while doing your speech in front of class to of course add "while In acting class"...blah..blah.. Gave people hard time for trying their best!

This professor was amazing her saturday class I highly recommend. She is a fellow thespian so if you have any background in the theater she will love you. Excellent class, definately take her for speech!!

I had her for 3 hours on saturday morning, tell me how she made me love going to sleep early on fridays, thats how good she is, because i had her once a week attendance was mandatory, but its useful to be there, and she accomplishes the goal that a teacher is suppose to do, help students grow.

The best teacher I had this semester. She is extremely fair and an excellent teacher. After taking this class you will have more confidence in yourself when making speeches. The class assignments and exams are very easy, you can definitely get an A!! Best of all she's a lot of fun!!

Very nice professor, can teach you many things about yourself and speaking in front of people...It's literally the only class you will take where you will not have any problem at all making friends...just be open minded and confident, because she makes it very comfortable even for someone like me who is often shy...Sat. class was a good idea here
