Comment:

A real legend. Patrick Lawler likes to make his courses as creative as possible. While other WRT 101 courses took quizzes and wrote essays, he had us write plays, stage our own debates, and encouraged creativity in projects as MUCH as possible. Taking a class with him is a great way to love English more, and pass the proficiency exam.

Comment:

I never had a problem with my essays my entire educational career, but for some reason, he hated my essays. He absolutely tore them apart. I went to him to try and figure out what was wrong with them, and he would tell me. So, the next essay, I would fix it and he would find more things wrong with them. I didn't get a grade above a C on them.

Professor Lawler was my Critical Writing teacher my Freshman year at LeMoyne. He was by far my favorite college professor, he assigns creative writing group projects which I loved. He prepares you very well for the proficiency exam. His class so so fun for everyone and he is an awesome person. I definetly recommend taking a class from him.

Best teacher! Actually looked forward to going to his class. He gets everyone to know each other really well so its a very open class. He laughs at everything and is an easy grader

If you're a shy person, Lawler will definitely break you out of your shell. Homework is very few and not every week. You're pretty much always in a small group for discussion and more than likely talking about nature. There are at least 3 group presentation project, and that's about it. Very lenient and understanding, love him and take again.

P. Lawler simply makes the class enjoyable. He makes the homework and the projects fun. He allows the students to write about anythig they wish without repercussions. He's more interested about the story or content than he is about any formating or grammar. Everything about this class was unexpected for an english 200 class. I def recommend him.

Lawler is hilarious. His class is so much fun and he's helpful with your work. Be prepared to read your work out loud in class! I hated poetry before this class and now I really like it. He does have crazy ideas sometimes, but he's really flexible
