Comment:
Took this class 4 years ago. By far the hardest UF class I have ever taken. But 4 years later I actually remember a ton from this class. Yes, I had to study my a** off, but I learned fantastic study skills and came out a better student, and a better psychologist. If you can take the heat and put in the effort, Dr. Abrams is SO worth it.

Unless this class is required, don't take this class. I wasted most my time studying for this class, as opposed to my other 3 and got the worst grade in this class. She's convinced her class in interesting and thinks everybody should spend 24/7 on her class.

Tests are too hard and after going to her office hours many times, she still wouldn't help me out with a curve saying it was unfair to other students. Then, right after that, she emailed the class saying she curved people who she thought showed interest in her class. Her class is dreadfully boring and I wouldn't sign up for it if I were you.

Abrams is an excellent teacher. If you want to learn a lot about cognitive psychology's current research, take this class. That being said, it's not easy. Study several days in advance for the exams. They will be hard. You will need the book, because the exam includes questions from experiments that are only covered in the book (not in class).

If you are looking for an easy A do NOT take this class. On that note, Dr Abrams is a fantastic teacher. SUPER nice and helpful and uses plenty of examples to make sure the concept really sinks in. Her tests are hard. Really hard. But you can go sit in her office & talk about it later. Very casual, comfortable office hours. Approachable. But tough.

Best professor at UF! I had no interest in cognitive psych before I took the class, am in love now. REALLY hard tests, have to study your butt off, but you learn a lot. Visit in office hours, very approachable. Take detailed notes! You can print the slides before class and take notes on them, will be much easier. Make her your friend!

Fantastic professor. Difficult class and crazy hard exams, but she definitely makes the material interesting. I very much enjoyed her class and would highly recommend it, although quite the challenge. She is also the type of individual who loves to chat with her students during her office hours- very approachable

Dr. Abrams is the best professor I have had at UF so far. She is not easy but you know what you need to know for the future. I have never learned more in my life. Go to class, book is mandatory, study, and you should do fine.

Knowledgable, helpful, clear, and she keeps you attentive. She manages to pay attention to each individual even if there are 100+ kids. I missed an A by a point, but she gave it to me b/c she knows I participate in class. You have to study every slide, every page in the book, and every article. Her wording on tests will kill grades, STUDY.

This class was a lot of fun! I enjoyed attending but PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED! The tests are very hard even with a lot of studing. If you attend every class, read the text and study A LOT you can get an A. If you don't want a class that you have to REALLY work for, don't take this one. But besides that, she is very understanding and interesting.

Dr. Abrams is one of my favorite teachers at UF. She genuinely cares about your progress in the class and will help you a lot in office hours. The class most definitely is not easy - but she does give extra credit!

Abrams is a great professor. Lectures are interesting and informative. I always thought when other students would say "the tests are just too hard!" that it was just because they didn't study hard enough. Her tests are hard- study for about 5 days in advance, go to class, do the extra credit, work hard and you can manage an A.

Dr. Abrams is a great professor, she really knows her stuff and lectures very well. The classes are not boring but the class is EXTREMELY difficult and tests are not in the least something you can blow off until the night before. I would honestly recommend you take this class with someone else if you're looking for an A.

Initially I was intimidated by this course, but after one class session I was excited to face the challenge. Dr. Abrams is enthusiastic and knowledgable about psychology. She guided us through our class discussions in such a way that our 3hr class never got boring. I learned a lot, and she treated us to pizza on the last day! Dr. Abrams rocks.

Lise Abrams is my favorite professor at UF so far. her cognitive psych class is hard, but i haven't learned so much in any other class i have taken. the tests are tough, so start doing the study guide 4 or 5 days in advance. I realized that the difference between getting an A and a B on her tests is about 5 or 6 (more) study hours
