Overall interesting class but I wish there couldve been more class engagement rather than just hearing the professor continuously talk in class. Also, I wished we couldve done some review before the midterm exam so that Im confident; they were tough essay questions so beware! Prof. also offers re-writes on papers so get ready to work hard :)

Piroux is an excellent professor- her passion for the subject is contagious. Highly recommend any class she teaches. Her feedback is so helpful and she's willing to answer any questions you have about the readings. 5 papers, midterm, final, presentation. Overall great professor.

She is such a sweetheart, always willing to help you out. Very strict on attendance and handing things in on time but as long as you're making an effort she is very kind. I would definitely recommend her as a professor.

A complete sweetheart, and very friendly and understanding if you're willing to talk to her. Fairly easy class as long as you show up, pay attention to what she's saying, and do your work correctly&on time. She does speak a bit fast, but if you ask, she's always more than willing to explain it again for you. Very knowledgeable, take her if you can!

really knows her stuff! she speaks quickly and covers a lot of material, but for the most part it's all very interesting. Five 2-pg essay homeworks due throughout the semester; one presentation; a midterm and a final. not hard as long as you read the books, go to class, and do the work on time!

This lady is AMAZING, she is always helpful and gives you an authentic french experience. she's french herself too, is very down to earth and doesn't take bs. TAKE HER, she is so caring you can't go wrong. just do the work and you'll be fine gradewise

I expected to hate her class, but it ended up being my favorite one. She can be mean and pick on students, but she has a thorough knowledge of her subject matter. She's funny and involves students in class discussions. She grades her essays for grammar and content and also counts class participation.

This professor was awesome! I've had her for 2 semesters and am trying to get in a third one. She takes a book that might be dull and dissects it for you so you're actually interested. Also, her papers are not graded on grammar. She really knows what she's talking about, and her class is fairly easy if you go to it. Take it!!!

She is a brilliant, interesting, great professor. Her class was so much fun, and she is funny and so smart. I had her for two semesters just by chance and was delighted to have her. Besides being amazing as a teacher, she's a really cool, nice person. If you want to learn, take her class. Don't waste her time... or yours.

I have now graduated and she was my favorite professor at Rutgers. By far one of the most intelligent faculty members I had the priveledge of having as my instructor. We not only discussed the novels, but also covered philosophy, art, history and politics...all managed and covered with the same ease as the course's principal subject matter.

I agree with the last person. Piroux is a very good prof. and knows her stuff really well. You def will learn more in her class than you expect. She gives very good background info that helps with the txts. Rambles a bit. Fair grader. She's actually pretty chill but u've got to let her know u r there. Disagree if u have to, she's not that bad.

dont pay attention to the other negative comments. Piroux is fair, well organized, and very honest about what is being expressed in the texts. She is french, and has a much better idea of what is being said in these texts than the American students rating her. Overall, good class and discussions.

She is too confused when she speaks and doesn't know where to start and where to finish; we were constantly late with work and never finished anything. Also, God forbid if you don't agree with her, she changes immediatelly and puts you down on such a mean way. Her essay questions ARE out there.

This woman is wonderful. The most intelligent and helpful professor I've ever had. You have to do your work and participate to do well, but she is worth the effort because I learned more than I ever have in a french class.
