Comment:
Dr. Sadrai is the first professor I had at SCSU that encouraged critical thinking for students in science. She expects you to do your part in regard to learning the material-and really as science majors do you expect to never have to be a self starter or independent thinker? I'm really honored to have been able to have taken a class from her!

I would not recommend her.I put more work in to this class than anyother class before and only pulled out a C+. Her tests are ridiculous. Even if you attend class and read the book multiple times you will still fail the tests (the averages were around 50%). I was so scared that I wasn't going to pass.

Her exams make no sense. Even if you attend every class and read the book daily, you'll be guessing on the exams. When she works through a problem from the book, she'll get the wrong answer and tell you the book must be wrong every time. If you have to take this class, spend a lot of time on the lab assignments, and you should be able to pass.

Would not recommend this professor to anyone! She basically read power points to us straight from our book and told us we were all 'mindless'. Also stated she was not there to teach, only to guide. Extremely difficult tests and makes you feel stupid if you ask any questions!

The class was going to be hard regardless but having a heavy Iranian accent and a vengeance for american students made this course unbearable. She will make you look stupid in front of the whole class. She goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the subject and a whole class period can go by without learning a thing. AVOID!

Dr. Sadrai is fair and very helpful, you just have to show that you care and are a good student. Show up to her office during office hours with intelligent questions and you'll see how wonderful, helpful, and smart she is. Her tough love for students may come across differently for some students, but believe me, she Is wonderful and truly cares!

She is not helpful at all. She thinks she is the best teacher there is and all the other chem teachers suck. Don't ask questions in class, she will embarrass you. I suggest not taking this class with her.

Not worth it. Avoid her at all cost! Seriously.. Unless you're into teaching yourself, then go for it. She grades unfairly and yells at you when you ask questions..

One time during a class excercise, I asked for help, and she got so mad she got in my face and yelled at me in front of the whole class, and I honestly thought she was gonna slap me in the face. Need I say more?

Horrible teacher. Smart but it doesn't translate. Quizzes are ridiculous, they're based on a bunch of random stuff. Lab is easy.

Don't take this prof if you can help it. People in the front row couldn't even understand her. It's not the accent so much as she's talking to herself quietly. Refuses to use calculators. She seems to think lowly of people who don't brown-nose her. Made us sit through a very poor presentation by a student, didn't learn a thing from the whole class.

Class is not hard if you complete the OWLs prior to the tests and actually study. You're not going to get chemistry by simply showing up to class (this was my 2nd chem. class ever). I made sure to visit her in her office and ask her questions out of class (the auditorium is almost impossible to interact). USE THE OWLs!!!

The only way to pass is to suck up to her. I failed most of my quizes and still got a c+ because I visited her during office hours. The final is SUPER hard, I only knew 10 out of the 70 ?'s (standardized). To pass quizes you NEED to study the example problems in the book... the crap she does on the board means nothing. Labs are easy bc of the TA's!

Her thick accent made it somewhat hard to understand her lectures. The lab was fairly easy--just work with your lab partner to figure out exactly what you need to be doing. Overall, a fairly easy class if you get over Sadrai's accent. Don't let yourself get frusterated, just be persistent on learning from day one.

The worst teacher I have ever had. I maybe understood 50% of the words she was saying. I got solid A's in high school and don't believe I have learned a thing in her class. You'll never know if you get a problem right in class or not. She attempts to do complicated math in her head because she doesn't believe in calculators. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

She is a very smart person, but has no knowledge of how to teach. She wastes our time by talking to us about things we don't even need to know until later chemistry courses. She also shares with us pointless information about what is REALLY in our food. I took this course with an interest in chemistry, now I feel I am not prepared for CHEM 211!!
