DING DING DING. Mr. McCarthy was a very funny guy, which translated well into his lectures. Lectures were super applicable to the real world, tests were open book, and he does the knowledge checks in class so that people will attend. He's the only professor for CIS 105 (outside of Wood, but you have to take both at the same time).

Professor McCarthy was hilarious and his. lectures were always enjoyable. He is a super smart guy who knows what he is talking about. He completes the weekly assignments in class with us so everyone gets 100%. The exams were open note and open book. He offered office hours multiple times a week for help. Overall, super chill dude.

Didn't love him as a person, but he is a fine professor. I learned basically nothing in his class, but it is an incredibly easy A+. All you have to do is go to his Zoom and he gives you all the answers to his HW. Tests were easy since it is open note/book/whatever you want. Get ready to hear "ding ding ding" every two seconds during lecture.

Loved Professor McCarthy's class! You should definitely attend the classes, he does the weekly assignments in class with you and tries to answer any and all questions. He really wants everyone to succeed in the course, so you should definitely choose McCarthy/Wood if you're taking CIS105 at ASU.

McCarthy was honestly the absolute best. He's so funny and is really knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches. His lectures are mandatory and he always does the weekly assignments on the lecture with you so it is definitely worth attending. If you have the chance to take his class, DO IT!! You won't regret it. (I did this class thru ASUSync)

Prof. McCarthy was a great professor who actually made learning fun. He uses comedic relief to help you escape the thought of online school and how much it could be at times while also making sure you learn the material. Weekly knowledge checks that he goes over with us. Memorization is all you need.

McCarthy was an amazing professor for CIS105. He goes over knowledge checks in class and makes sure that everyone gets the information they need to succeed. He was one of my favorite professors for the Fall semester of 2020. Take this class, you wont regret it!

Fantastic teacher! Not a dull moment, he keeps the class running and entertaining with his hilarious dry sense of humor, while also teaching very well. One of the only professors I actually enjoy going to class for.

McCarthy is a very good professor. He is very funny and extremely blunt. His lectures were always entertaining. He also did the knowledge checks in class so you are guaranteed a 100%. Also, the exams are open book.

McCarthy really made the class easy and flexible for students during this zoom semester. His review sessions were super helpful and his class was one of the easiest I had. Would definitely recommend even though Im pretty sure hes the only CIS105 lecture professor with Wood.

He's one of the best teachers I've ever had. Great and funny lectures even for me who hate this topic. ALL TESTS are OPEN BOOK + NOTE and it is great, very easy grade as almost everything on the exams is in his slides. You get homework every week but he does it in class with you and gives you all the answers. No extra credit, but it is not needed.

One of my favorite classes. Lectures are entertaining and he does the homework with you. This guy has office hours all the time, especially before exams. 5 exams but they're all open book open note. You only really have one options for CIS105 but this class is great.

Such a funny guy! Loved his class, wasn't too hard. He gave a lot of answers to HW in class and has office hours weekly. Very accessible.
