Comment:
long lectures not many examples but you are expected to know them. no exams.. only quizzes NO STUDY GUIDES Does not give "good" advice about how to study for the class but WILL TELL YOU TO STUDY. Tells the class to practice the math and then puts lots of vocab. on quizzes instead.

Prof Miller is the best Physics teacher I've ever had. He explained materials thoroughly and answered questions from students patiently. There are pre-lecture quizzes and in-class questions, so you have to be really engaged in class and be well-prepared before class. Better to find reliable partners for the lab because the questions are not easy.

50% of your grade are quizzes, which are difficult. Best way to study is to take good notes in class, reading the book didn't help. Labs take forever and most of the time no one knows how to answer the questions. There is no extra credit, there is no dropped quizzes, there is no curve. He will help if you ask. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

Comment:
This class may not be mandatory to go to but you hand in homework or have a quiz nearly every time. Dr. Miller is so nice and sweet and he tries very hard to convey the material but for people who hate physics, it's difficult. Very difficult. The tests are more conceptual and there isn't a lot of math.

Such a great professor. He tries to help you understand as much as he possibly can but the class is still hard being that it is physics. Daily quizzes are given. He doesn't give you study guides for tests anymore but make sure to study quizzes and labs. You definitely must work hard to earn your grade but I would definitely take him again.

he is a funny guy but sometimes I had no idea what he was talking about in his powerpoints. the tests are kind of hard but if you study, you should do decent. I really liked him outside of class.. he's really cool and understanding.

great teacher. daily quizzes, but the same questions will be used on the exams. he lets you correct your exams for extra points. takes lots of notes and ask questions if needed. you earn your grade, but he's fairly easy.

This is a VERY HARD class. I am a straight A student, and I tried very hard to do well, but I wound up with a B. This was one of the highest grades in the class! He's a nice guy, but the class is tough (especially the tests!). He was always available outside of class, but it really doesn't help.

Tests seem wierd from other professors tests, class is enjoyable though. Never fully explained the physics problems to the final solution, he just sets them up in a very broad since.
