Pish is great, but she does have her favorites in class. If you are knowledgeable about the subject. Do not try talking in class if you are saying things that are false. She will call you out and it will be embarrassing. However, it does teach you to source all of your facts and not provide opinions as facts. Show up to class, skip the book.

I have witnessed in more than one class where she made people cry, she likes to be mean, and if you dont understand something, she makes it clear she is irritated with you, eye rolling, scoffing, huffing, etc. Lacks empathy, patience and organization. Also rants a lot/off topic, argumentative and likes picking fights with anyone she can.

Pish is extremely passionate in the field and you can tell. Reading the text is essential in this class. I frequently read extra materials and spoke to her about them, this helped me get to know her better. You have to volunteer a lot for this class, so keep that in mind. It's not easy but if you're set in social work, she's a wonderful professor.

Pish is great if she likes you and terrible if she doesn't. She insulted me and insinuated that I might not be telling the truth when I came to her after class over a personal issue. She is a not a nice person and will judge you instantly, if you mesh with her then you won't care, if you don't it's going to be a struggle. Test are from the book 50%

I loved Pish so much I asked for her as my adviser. This course requires volunteer work, which wasn't a problem for me, but if you don't do it, you automatically fail. Attendance is required, but she is so easy to understand and so passionate about social work.

I took social welfare and policy with Pish. She is a wonderful instructor that cares about her students. Take the time to get to know her, not only is she a wonderful instructor but she's a wonderful person too.

I will say, Dr. C is a wonderful lady! Exams derived about 50/50 from her notes and books. Not afraid to confront taboo issues like entitlements and institutional racism. If you are interested in the course matter, this is great opportunity to speak out and learn. Also available as a PS course.

She is a really great teacher. She is fair when it comes to assignments... Most get A's. There are no excuses for late assignments but that makes sense. She's really interesting and as long as you pay attention you don't really need to read the book

She knows what a lot about social work, she has interesting story, but her presentations are scattered. She gets distracted by questions easily, and does not clearly answer them. Note taking for the class is almost impossible to keep organized. But she is still an interesting and smart professor.

Professor Cianciolo was a great teacher. i really enjpoyed her style of teaching. her classes are not hard as long as you attend class and keep up with the work. her test are a mixture of multiple choice, t/f, and essays. as long as you are an attentive student the test will not be hard. i usually just studied the day before and did well.

Not a bad teacher if you dont mind being talked to like you are a two year old. Some days she is nice and other days she is no so much nice. She knows everything no matter what. If you ask her a question about almost anything you will either get yelled at or get "i cant answer that" over all a frustrating class

Pish is a great teacher, and knows what she is talking about. She brings in guest speakers often which really helps and makes it interesting.If Social Work is not your field of study, or if you aren't interested then don't take the class.The tests are decent.All you have to do is pay attention, know the material (reading your book) and go to class.
