Phyllis Eckler class is golden because the teaching ability and talent of Phyllis is everything I expected from a discipline as dance. I am grateful and feel priviledge of being part of this class as Phyllis teaching style was motivating enough to make me dance and comprehend technique at a sophisticated and higher level. Comment:

She is okay. But she does use routines that are all similar and a little dull. Some routines do not fit every person in the class. I don't did it fair cause people can easily get hurt. She acts nice but she has a very bad temper. At times she acts as if she doesn't care about certain people even though they are trying their best.

Phyllis is an excelent teacher. She expects students to give 100% and they all give as much as they can. She is very supportive of all students. She brings a positive attitude to the classroom everytime.

I learn a lot of helpful facts about our bodies in her class, which I haven't learned from other dance teachers. It's not easy, which is what most people expect when they take a dance class. She is very strict and follows a rubric when grading students for the midterm and final. Her corrections are to make you a better dancer!

Comment:

Phyllis Eckler teaches modern dance with the great skill & passion I've come to expect from GCC's FABULOUS arts teachers. Challenge reasonably fit bodies and minds here. If too tough, adjust the exercises appropriately to make them work for you. Respect your body AND your teacher, and you may find this is one of the best experiences ever. I did!

Having danced for over 25 years in various professional companies across the globe, I am very displeased with her as an instructor. Not only does she have her students dance in a manner with could damage the body in the long run, she also is very unprofessional in her communication. I highly recommend that people avoid her class. Protect your body.

Phyllis is a fantastic dancer with an awesome personality to match. I love her class, her vibe, her direct-ness, her mannerisms in class...the whole lot! She makes class time count and doesn't let the rubric come in the way of having fun-yes, she want us to learn, but she wants us to smile too. The negative side-not enough Phyllis to go around!:)

of all my teachers, i think i love mrs. E.'s choice of music the best . its simply beautiful. the choreography she uses in class is WONDERFUL!!you wouldn't want a 'nicey-nice' teacher, those are boring and you dont improve. mrs. e is passionate about dance and you will only get better that way.

Phyllis is one of the best dance teachers I have. She teaches everything thoroughly and makes everything clear. She cares about all her students equally and is always correcting their mistakes so they won't injure themselves. She has a lot of compassion above all else. I highly recommend her, you won't regret taking her class.

I love this class. Phyllis is a great dance teacher. She really makes you think about every movement. The exercises are challenging but fun and every week she adds something new to help you build on what you have already learned. She is very patient with people who need a little extra coaching.

Phyllis taught me the skills and confidence I needed in order to excel in dance. With her guidance I was able to finally master the pirouette, document dance movements on paper and bring them into reality by learning how to count beats and isolate my muscles for dynamic poses, and best of all she helped me build more self confidence.

she is a great dance teacher and i do not understand why she has a low rating - she is very organized - the class is fun but challenging - her composition are interesting and challenging - she tests the students to their fullest and is concerned about beginners. Phillis is a very good teacher. Her choreography can be complicated depending on the ability of the student. Her class is fun. It opened doors in my technique. I think these bad ratings do not represent Phillis or her class.

GCC has to fire her right away. She has no ability to dance, teach, or even pretend as a dancer. She doen't know how to dance. Her technique is beginner level. She is the one who should take beginning jazz class. If I have a right to fire her, I would definitely do it. Just stay away from her.
