Comment:
Surprised to see so many people felt Rob was condescending. Never felt that way; he was very helpful and clear in all instructions and more than willing to assist outside of class. Not crazy about the class material but Rob made it enjoyable. Great man.

he may have knowledge, but he does not have the ability to teach others. the labs are a waste of a lot of your time. choose a crew with the best TA. short with students, requires attend for grade, then skips out the last three classes. why not shoot an email?

Rob is aggressive and sometimes condescending, but he also will help if you ask for it. The TAs are wonderful and VERY helpful. His class is a difficult beginning class, but definitely expands your lighting horizons in a BIG way.

horrible teacher...doesn't care whether or not you get it, just if he's in front of people...also doesn't have anything over his bachelor's degree...keep that in mind...not sure which is worse: to work with him production-wise or in class

Comment:
Aggressive, offensive, condescending, and arrogant, Shakespeare took a lot of joy out of what could have been a very interesting class. He refuses to accept that he's teaching beginners.

Rob tries to make class interesting but is not very helpful when it comes to assignments. Be grateful for the TAs; they are extremely helpful. He has a tendancy to speak down to students.

Comment:
A difficult class. Professor Shakespeare tends to become frustrated quickly, sometimes giving the impression that he is condescending. His class, however, is extremely helpful...impossible to leave without a new, enriched view of theatre on the stage.

Comment:
Rob is not clear on any of assignments and everyone leaves class confused. He is a nice guy, but forgets he is teaching an entry level class. You can really depend on the TA's though.
