Comment:

Terrible teacher. Confuses everybody and doesn't stop to help saying that you should know the answer. My class started off with almost 20 kids and at the end there were only 6 people who hadn't withdrawn. He definitely knows what he's talking about but is terrible at teaching it and explaining it to students. Hardest class I've ever taken.

There are really only three things you need to have to get an A in Mr. Matthews philosophy class. 1. The ability to follow instructions. 2. The ability to read the book. 3. To show up to class. I would highly recommend him for anyone who has any interest in the content and needs A. His lectures were quite enjoyable and entertaining.

Mr. Matthews' class is difficult but very rewarding. His lectures are very interesting and funny! he's willing to go the extra mile for you, if you work hard and ask for help. Not an easy A but Mr. Matthews really cares and wants to help you succeed.

Mr.Matthews is a great teacher. This class in not an easy A. You have a paper, 2 projects and then your midterm and final. Make sure you follow escatly how he wants each project/paper. The class is easy to follow he does lots of group work to get the hang of the material. He is a great guy and willing to help. Book is needed for reading only.

i took him for the summer session and it wasnt that bad really. the classes seemed to go by fast. you worked in groups to help you get the material better a couple projects (presentation and 2 papers) midterm, final and you're done. best of all he doesnt care what edition of the book you use as long as you have it. take him!

This professor is super boring, and a librarian, he is very nazi-like on his papers, he will get a ruler out and measure every inch of your paper. The tests make no sense and the reading is hard to digest. If you have to take philosophy..skip this guy.

Hillarious man!! Always had a great time in class! The material is not too difficult, but papers and presentations can be tricky. He's a librarian, so he's very familiar with MLA and expects you to be as well. Sometimes it felt like the papers were graded more on the way it was written, rather than the actual topic at hand. But still a great guy!

Mr. Mattews comes off very difficult in the beginning, but he is the librarian for goodness sake. He is a stickler for detail and accuracy, but so understanding it is amazing. He taugh me so much and I appreciate that deeply. After, I took his class I decided to minor in this subject. You will learn a lot, & choose Karl Japsers trust me!!

exceptional. A professor who really encourages discussion and thought. Tools that are actually usefull in all walks of life. Very open to opinions and debate, very organized. So good I requested he write me a letter of recommendation.

I fell that Professor Matthews is eager to help and really displays intrest in helping other students. I would further deduct that he has general concern for his students as well as humanity. I would say that he is the most approachable instrustor that I have been blessed to meet. I would incourage anyone to work with him..

How can any one think he was snobby, an evolved indiviual would realize that he is trying to get you to think for your self! He mostly played devils advocate. He provokes you to get involved. Great Guy! Very intelligent, and at time theatrical (a great thing!).
