The class was honestly a joke and I basically taught myself everything I needed to know through google. If you know how to work the program you'll be using and reread his lectures online you'll pass no problem, I couldn't understand why everyone else in the class seemed to be having such a hard time but then again, he just reads powerpoints all day

Comment:

Nice guy, but not a good teacher. He rushes through the app inventor material, and then gets mad when you don't understand it. He also seems to get annoyed whenever you have the audacity to ask for help. Maybe it's just the subject matter, but as a straight A student, this guy is the worst professor I've ever had.

Comment:

He doesn't use textbooks, and the assignments are very straight forward which you do during class. Only hard part are quizzes and tests those are brutal. As long as you get a c on the test you'll be fine.

Knows his material. If you're interested in the material, this class will be easier. The class was pretty easy otherwise - really if you have a pretty decent level of knowledge when it comes to computers, you won't have a problem. Designing the android apps was fun.

Prof. Wurm is phenomenal. The class material can be a bit dry, but he tries to make the projects interesting. He's always available to help with projects and really wants all of his students to get As. His tests/ quizzes are easy if you go to class and take notes.

Comment:

Interesting class, decent professor, though some students seemed to have issues with the subject matter and Prof. Wurm's explanations aren't always the easiest to understand. Still, pretty cool stuff, you learn how to make some basic phone apps and learn a bit of the background of computer programming.

Prof Wurm is great. He's really nice and always wants to help out. The first few weeks of the class are really boring, but it gets interesting once you start working on apps. You only need the book for one assignment.

I took this professor last semester because I needed it for my math major. I personally found his class fun and enjoyable. He really knows his material and he is a great person. His quizzes are crystal clear. You must take notes and pay attention, but it is a pretty easy class. He never kept us for the full hour and a half. I recommend him.

The professor is very knowledgeable, but has a hard time explaining concepts to students who do not catch on the first time around. If you miss class it is very hard to catch up, so definitely avoid skipping if you don't have to. Overall, a good experience and I learned A LOT.

Nice guy. Learned a lot about JavaScript and looping. Came into class with a general knowledge of HTML because of my middle school days with MySpace, so that definitely helped. Many extra credit opportunities and the lowest exam grade is dropped. Instead, I just exempted the final. Got an A in the class. Great course!

Hmm. Well Before you read on you should know I tend to be good with computer stuff. Some stuff was harder than others. but if you pay attention at least 50% then you should get it. He gives extra credit all the time. He has this weird thing that it looks like he is disappointed when we get an answer right. But that could deff just be me.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Gave a ton of these bs assignments, and made us take written exams in a COMPUTER SCIENCE COURSE! Gave us scan-tron sheets like we were in 5th grade, and spent a majority of the class talking about how typos will hinder a program. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

He is such a laid back professor. He gives about 8 easy assignments which include some webpages, 4 quizzes, 2 tests and a final. I know it sounds like alot but it doesnt take up much time. Just pay attention in class and its an easy A. This was one of my best courses at Hofstra!!!
