Definitely keep in contact with him. If you show constant effort he will bend over backwards to help you and make sure you do well. Email constantly! Very intelligent man. Stay on top of the out of class work and make sure if you fall behind you email him immediately and use the book to get caught up.

He has an ego problem and an addiction to handing out absurd amounts of homework (Like over spring break. Yeah.). If you get on his bad side, he's a smartass jerk. The bright side: the class is pointless, but really easy.

The guy is a "bit-god" who came down from Olympus (Bell Labs) to teach mere mortals the art of computer code. If you want to be a programmer, take this class. If not, get out and quit wasting everybody's time.

Cool teacher....learned a lot. Just do homework..you'll be fine. I thought the class was easy...knew nothing about excel,word etc. before...got an A. People who do bad in his class are simply lazy.

Prof. Schuyler is a nice guy. I learned a lot from his essential comp. class. There is plenty of work, but no more than expected in a college class. He is always available to help you out and responds quickly to email contact. Great professor.

He is very easy going as far as homework and grades go. Sort of a jerk to slow students and student who have problems with their computers. Quite often he isn't clear on what he wants out of you. He tries to be funny and entertaining, sometimes he is, but for the most part it is just silly stuff. Nice guy and easy class...

Absolutely POSITIVELY the WORST professor to walk the campus of Edinboro University. Not only does he teach the most confusing, demanding class there is, he is rude, unhelpful and cocky. He assigns 4-6 hours homework a week, and class is extremely boring and painful. Do yourself a favor and choose another professor. I wish I had.

Ambiguous because that's how the course is designed, hey it's what you get in real life and Prof. S is trying to prepare you for that. I learned a ton in his class even though the process was painful at times! Gives a TON of work, so dont' have alot of credits while you are taking him. If you can manage it, take him, you'll learn alot.

Had For VB. Start of semester sucks, loads of work. Like previously stated he is very unclear about what he wants. After first month or so work eases up considerably. Tests are open book/notes, and if you suck at the start he will consider that or other personal situations, good guy.

Completely ambigious about what he wants done. teaches different students at different speeds. So even if you do more work then someone with less programming skill, he grades you based on that. Worst professor i've ever had in my opinion. Definately Do not take.

Despite the other reviews, this class is very easy. There is alot of homework but it is some of the easiest assignments that he could possibly assign. He comes across as a difficult proff, but if you talk to him, he is very nice. I got an A without much effort except going to class and keeping up with the assignments.

At first I HATE THIS TEACHER. But, after learning how he works and what he expects the class turned around for me. Don't expect this teacher to do anything FOR you, but he is very lenient with assignments and homework, and loves extra credit. Just consider this before taking him. He is considered an EVIL PROF to some people. So watch out.

hes one of those people whose sense of humor goes right over most of the student's heads. he's extremely willing to help, more-so than any other teacher i've had. however, if you don't keep right up along with what he's doing, you'll fall behind really quickly. a lot of HW, but it's easy.
