He has his own set of notes and powerpoint pdf that you use instead of a textbook. The material is tough, but he was a great prof. Used a lot of real world examples and his lectures flowed really well. You have to be careful because the exams are really hard, but I loved the course.

Talan is a really great guy. His class is quite difficult because of the nature of the assignments, but if you have any questions regarding the material or these assignments he will go out of his way to help you understand. I highly recommend taking this class, as it is one of the few who's content will stick with me after the final exam.

Not the easiest class but great prof. He is very engrossed in material and brings that enthusiasm to class. He challenges students but is super accessible and very helpful. One of the best profs I have had

Incredible professor!!! One of the best Dalhousie has to offer. He is genuinely excited about this area of economics. Clearly has not reached the "burn out" phase of teaching where students bother him. Everyday you can see students fallowing him back to his office after class so they can ask more questions.

Go to class, he does not reward students who don't go to class even if you put the time and effort in to master the material. He might be offended by you not attending and your grade will suffer.

Completely agree with previous comment. The course is difficult, but if you put in the effort you can do well. Attending lectures should be mandatory, and he is available for help outside class. Very interested in the material and explains it well. His enthusiasm really helps with the learning.

He's hard but he's good at what he does. You have to put in the work but he's very clear about what he expects and what you need to do to do well. Extremely enthusiastic and really smart. Sometimes lectures are dry but other times they're really interesting and entertaining. Personable and encouraging towards the class. You learn a lot in his class
