I was there when he first came to UF. He wanted to buy a bullet car. He is an intelligent guy, the material was dense. He's very nice but I found he is intellectually inflexible. You can get an A in his class, and he will give you some leeway if you are late with papers or something, but not too much.

Really interesting lectures, but he is also great individually if you go to his office hours and talk about ideas for your paper. He even let me borrow one of his books to help me write.

Very attractive professor, but also knows his stuff. He will teach you a lot about political theory and he manages to make it more than vaguely interesting. Recommended for all poly sci majors as an intro to political theory course.

okay class, though it gets quite boring. He tries to tell jokes, but his looks are the only thing that helps. Interesting topics, but the pop quizzes can pull you down. Not a terrible class overall, I pulled out an A.

Thomas is such a great teacher. You can tell he really enjoys the subject and wants you to too! He is an asset to UF poli sci and very easy to look at. The readings are lame but there are no pop quizes. He goes over everything you know. GO TO CLASS and pay attention. It might be hard though because you might catch yourself staring.

He is as intelligent as he is good looking. I have taken two of his courses and came out with As. However, you have to be willing to read and participate. If you don't like theory than it's probably not the course for you. Attendance not mandatory but required to pass the tests. Very helpful and highly recommended for political science majors.

Really long reading assignments were given for each class meeting. They were great for fighting insomnia... And that was about all they were good for. Biebricher is extremely HOT and has an adorable accent, which made going to class partially enjoyable, even though it was extremely boring. He is really sweet and nice, but the theory is terrible.

He is a sexy man. Besides that, he knows the material very well, the material is just extremely boring. If you're in to political theory, go for it. Otherwise, you'll be bored out of your mind struggling to read John Locke.

Okay class. Talks really softly so you have to sit in front, but he knows the subject well. Learned a lot.

Agree with person below. He is nice to look at but that does not make up for boring material! All primary documents (ie, Plato, Locke). 2 5-7 pg papers, midterm and final are essay based. POT just seems really difficult and it's easy to get lost/confused.It's theory! Professor is extremely knowledgeable and TAs great but class itself is not.

He is a fairly good looking man. There is no doubt that he has knowledge of the course he teaches. But the class was extremely boring. I don;t know if it was the subject or him that made this course unbearable for me. But an A is easily attainable.

Yes, the readings are daunting, and the lectures are not necessarily well-structured. His classes are meant for serious political science students who really want to think. But the topics are incredibly fascinating and the fact that he is able to teach such sophisticated concepts in a second language makes him all the more imressive.

Attendance is not mandatory, however attending class helps in understanding the material, and German Pol. Philosophy is very difficult material to understand. Readings are difficult, and the class is one of the more difficult I have taken. However, the professor is very helpful and is a nice guy. Essay tests.

Doesn't hurt that the teacher is gorgeous. But you have to have a philosophical mind. The class has very little to do with politics. Attendance is not taken but is very important if you was a good grade. I dropped the class cause i couldnt grasp the concent of the course. Very difficult to understand the material. Very obscure concepts.

Biebricher is German for badass. He is incredibly friendly and personable, and often jokes around with the students about all kinds of things. Always entertaining. Changed my entire perspective on politics. Fair grader. Go to most of the classes, participate, and generally keep up with the readings. I highly recommend this professor.

Welfare State was my first class w/ him and was intimidated by what other students had told me about him. He is by far the best professor I have ever had. He does demand a lot of his students in that there is no way to get an "easy A". But if you do the minimum that he asks of you, I think a B is very attainable. You actually learn in his class! =)

I wouldn't recommend this teacher. Lectures were way too boring. The readings he assigned put me to sleep after the first page. Although everyone got an A on his midterm, the final paper and exam were graded pretty harshly. Definitely a class that you have to attend everyday and keep up with the readings.
