This class is an introductory class but is taught like a upper level class. He expects way too much out of you for a 102 class. Map quizzes are hard if you don't study. Lectures are long and he gets off-topic for long periods of time.

He is a teacher who knows so much about the course he is teaching, which is really cool. Attending class helps you so much on the exams! He says some information here and there that isn't in the textbook that he places on exams. His outlines for the exams are extremely detailed so make sure you know EVERYTHING.

Do not buy the text!!! Teaches purely from his powerpoints and class discussion. He is very friendly and extremely knowledgable in his area, but sometimes his enthusiasm for his subject leads to overwhelming amounts of information given on otherwise easy concepts. Tests questions require analysis, not rote memorization.

Gives a lot of info. It's hard to follow bc he has so many stories to share. Map quizzes are easy, but STUDY for your tests or the grade will show. Study the pp slides according to the study guide and you should be fine.

TERRIBLE class. LOTS of info given thru ppts every class period as well as lots of spoken info. To do well on tests you must memorize every detail of every ppt and also everything he says. Test questions are NOT written clearly and are quite frustrating. Will NEVER take another class nor will I recommend. Even my advisor told me most students fail his class

Don't waste your money on the textbooks. I never opened them! He'll say you need it, but you really don't. He has a powerpoint everyday that you copy down. You have to know about every word of the powerpoints plus what he said in class if you want an A. The multiple choice questions are often worded to trick you. This all is true of GG101 and 102.

lots of map quizzes, but they are pretty easy. tests are harder, u have to pay attention. if u think all u have to do is copy the ppt, ur wrong. a lot of his test material is stuff he says in class, not on the overhead. b polite in his class and participate and u'll b fine. I got an A.

He is very smart, and knows the information well, but there is too much information given at once. Class is all lecture, and tests are very difficult. There is almost no homework, so tests are worth everything. Take this class if you're up for a challenge.
