Alan is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He doesn't lecture, he includes his students into every conversation and allows us to integrate our own thoughts and ideas about educational topics. He has made the elementary education major super fun and light hearted. He is a tough grader, but he is only trying to help you!

Dr. Canestrari was by far my favorite professor that I have had. So much so, I took 3 of his courses. There are readings assigned every night but they are worth while. Participation is required, but the discussions are highly engaging.

Dr. Canestrari is an amazing teacher. His belief and faith in progressive education makes his class fun, interesting, and downright hilarious sometimes. Don't let him intimidate you, he can seem intense but he is a kind and caring man.

A truly amazing man. So kind and compassionate. He was flexible with the class in general as well as each assignment, and wanted us to make everything our own. Very discussion-based class. One of the nicest and wisest professors I've had. I highly recommend him, even if you aren't in Education.

Greatest professor! I graduated and frequently think of his classes in my everyday teaching career. I had an interest in the business world and he always encouraged me to pursue that as well as a career in Elementary Ed.

One of my favorite professors ever. His classes always consisted of amazing discussions that really made you think (even after you left the classroom). He's so funny and really great to chat with. A few papers throughout the semester but nothing crazy. Can't say enough about this guy- Would 100% take his class if you get the opportunity!

Canestrari is great if you do his work. He assigns readings every night and expects you to participate in class discussions. if you don't, he will automatically think less of you. He has obvious favorites,and the class is only good if you are one of them. There is only one test with a couple essays throughout the semester. Great person, bad teacher

Professor Canestrari is a great teacher. He is involved in his students and has a genuine desire to want help his students. There is homework almost every night which is reading. Not hard, but long and necessary. Class is based on participation and you don't do well if you don't talk. Only tests are midterm and final with a few essays.

YOU HAVE TO READ. You can't get around not doing his homework. His class is based around what YOU think and you need to read to be able to form an opinion. He really encourages participation. He's a great teacher and a great guy so I would recommend him, but just be prepared to read. There are two tests, one huge paper, and two small ones. TAKE HIM

Very good teacher. It's hard to keep up sometimes- he puts a lot into class participations which is kind of pressuring, but he is brillant and very, VERY knowledgeable. Take his classes if at all possible.

no marlowe, not in the least. he is easy and helpful if you go to his office. he knows a lot and just tries to force it out of you. hard to stay involved sometimes.
