Dr. Castro was extremely unprofessional. He used to make fun of me and embarrass me in front of my classmates because I made a mistake in an experiment or a comment I made. A year later, he gave me the chemistry award probably because he took pity on me. Unbelievable. He really buried my self-esteem.

Talks entire class period but doesn't teach or let anyone solve problems, does it all on his own. Learned absolutely nothing. NO help, lots of homework that makes no sense and he doesn't give you any feedback on anything. NO reviews. he grades based off labs and there are no tests and quizzes except for the midterm and final. no open book tests.

Dr. Castro is a great teacher, but his class is tough. You definitely need to study in order to understand the material, pass his exams, and get good grades in the class. In the end this is Chemistry and its not supposed to be easy, but its definitely doable as long as you study. Hes also a tough grader, so try to do your homework on time.

I'm taking Organic Chem right now with Castro. He is one of the coolest teachers ever! Very down to earth and helpful. He will help you, just ask for help. Work hard for your grade, like any other class and you should do well. I am not especially worried about this class, though the OWLS are a pain!

He is super nice! He's always there willing to help whoever needs it. Genuinely interested in the students, their lives, and making sure they understand the material. During labs, he always helps and lets you stay after if you need extra time. Very knowledgeable, not only about chemistry, but about other things as well!!

Horrible professor. Teaches from power points available online, makes you buy owl and gives you only three tries per question. He gets all his material from online. Tests and labs. His labs never work, leaves kids in the lab and they're responsible for getting all the data even if things don't work. Most disrespectful professor ever. Don't take him

I HATE CHEM but I got a good grade with him. Open book tests, but they were still hard. The labs and online homework helped with the grade a lot. Very Fair Guy! Agree w/ the 1 who said he doesnt make eye contact, don't know why! But he was a good teacher...

Cool guy. Open book exams, but way to much online homework. Though online work and lab can boost your grade about 10 points. Trust me it does. Some exams are hard.
