This professor cares about the success of his students. He will help you anytime, you just have to ask. Take his advice and use flash cards to study! And dont wait until the last minute to study. As long as you do the work and study, you can earn a great grade. He doesnt hound you; you have to ask for help if you need it. Great teacher!

One of my favorites! He genuinely cares about the success of his students. Questions? All you have to do is ask him. He will even help you study for the tests. Attendance is important; he doesnt just give you the notes. He holds you accountable for your own learning and you earn the grade you get. Knowledgeable, respectful, & professional!

Prof Savage is super smart and loves teaching: you can tell. He cares about his students and their grades IF they show up to class. He doesn't take attendance for a grade, but he pays attention to who shows up and actually participates. Don't get the book. All of his quiz answers are found on Google. If you fail, it's because you put in 0 effort.

I loved Professor Savage! I took his History of Rock and Roll class and would definitely recommend it to others. I loved his lectures and the online quizzes were all open book. I have heard his online classes are hard, so try and take him in person. He also remembers you after having taken his class and always says hello.

Comment:

He's an interesting and enthusiastic teacher. The quizzes are all online and open book. Some had very specific questions that were hard to find, but some you could just google to make it quicker on yourself. The tests were intense, but if you learned all of the songs, you'd be alright. I still have the songs stuck in my head to this day.

Comment:

Quiz's were completed on our own time and date before and after midterms. We determined our own pace. Thick novel with packed info about composers and musical eras. CD's to purchase for musical selections. I love his style but wish I managed my studying better. I could have aced this class! I recommend this class as a Tier II elective! He's great!!

Savage wastes time telling "jokes." His "tests" for UC are useless. A fifth grader could make a better test question . Example of his test question "which brand uses the slogan 'just do it'"? This class is supposed to prepare students for college. How does Nike have anything to do with that? Would no reccomend . Don't waste your time .

Professor Savage is a great guy! I have taken choir with him every semester, and took MUS 1200 - Exploring Musical Styles this summer. He doesn't make things easy, and expects his students to take music as seriously as he does. Very helpful too! He even offered to let me borrow his cd's for this class if I was too short on money to purchase them.

I took the class online and I still realized how much of a d-bag this guy is. The tests are proctored and extremely hard. His extra credit only applies to your lowest test score as opposed to your overall grade. just very difficult for being a 100-level non-music major class

If I were you, I would try to avoid this teacher. DO NOT TAKE UC 116. It is a huge waste of time. The tests were stupid. He had so many grammatical and spelling errors (which he blamed on Microsoft Word) on the test that it was incomprehensible. It seemed as if he took a random, insignificant sentence from the book and created a question for it.

Has an irritating habit of interrupting conversations outside of the classroom that he was not invited to participate in. One OU worker has stated that she has thought of accusing him of harrassment because he won't leave her alone in the library. She has not yet complained. He talks about other students with other students...i.e. in choir.

the worst class i have ever taken. He did not teach anything but used class time to tell unfunny jokes and make comments that were not appropriate. Invades conversations where he is unwanted and made a joke about the holocaust out of poor taste.

Used class time attempting to be funny-using the comedic pauses and the whole nine yards-he wasn't funny. Worst joke: While unlocking the door to the classroom he said, "Ah, there's nobody in there. Their all dead. It's the hollocaust." What a moron! Cancelled class after class was there in their seats. Incessant need for attention. Needy!
